Epitome of Roman History

From Wikisource
Epitome of Roman History (1889)
by Florus, translated by John Selby Watson
Florus's Two Books of Epitomes from Titus Livius of all wars of 700 years purports to have been written during the reign of the emperor Trajan (98-117), or 200 years from the reign of Augustus (27 BC - AD 14). A summary of Rome's foreign and civil wars from the earliest times to the accession of Augustus, arranged thematically rather than chronologically, it is based largely, but not entirely, on Livy's From the Founding of the City. Translation by John Selby Watson (1889).
