We have this tracing back to PIE *úderos. Might the unexpected /t/ in Latin be explained by a pre-Latin syncopating form in which the cluster /dr/ shifted to /tr/, and then the rest of the paradigm shifted by analogy? If not, then maybe the original PIE form was actually *ud-teros. Soap 12:53, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
