A glacial lake is a body of water with origins from glacier activity. They are formed when a glacier erodes the land, and then melts, filling the depression created by the glacier.

Szmaragdowe (emerald) Lake used to be a chalk mine which was flooded by underground waters in 1925 and thanks to that disaster the lake has a unique emerald colour now.

Stopped by on the way to Gordon Dam to enjoy this majestic scene, the sky was turbulent that day, added much interest to the scene.

This is a place where I like to take a walk. It is surrounded by walk trails and trees. Often Wildlife and birds can be seen in and around the lake.

Lake Baldwin Park is a beautiful, shady park that covers 23.16 acres on Lake Baldwin. The park is one of two city parks which boasts a sandy beach. This park is the only park in the city known as “dog-friendly” – dogs may be off-leash during park hours of 8 a.m. to sunset.

I have tried several photo takes with different cameras and I finally settled on this shot using my IR camera.

Twin Lakes State Park is situated on this lake. It was a cool, peaceful morning.

My newest addition to my Lake Moraine pictures. It was lightly snowing/hailing out this day so It was a pain to climb to the top but I set up my camera for a 30 second exposure with a ND filter on and saturated those colors in. It was cold, but worth it. I will go back in the upcoming month to get a photo with a lot of snow and hopefully a bright open sky.

奥琵琶湖は関西でありながら北日本の豪雪地帯と同じく積雪が多く気温が低いため、桜の開花時期が遅いのですが、2021年は例年より10日程度開花が早くなりました。

そのため、4月6日時点ですでにほとんど散っています。

奥琵琶湖パークウェイのルート上、最も標高の高い付近で数本だけ見頃を迎えた桜の樹々が残っていました。
