Modified on Mon, 21 Oct at 9:41 AM

We have been made aware of a scam modus operandi targeting CelcomDigi customers. Please read the following information carefully to avoid becoming a victim to these tactics.

Modus Operandi of the Scam

1. Impersonate CelcomDigi Staff and request for OTP
Scammers may impersonate as CelcomDigi staff and ask you to provide an OTP for account verification post a system upgrade to avoid service interruption.

2. Access to app

Once scammers receive your OTP, they will be able to log in to your app and access all your information, including suspending your line via app.

3. False promises
Scammers may tell you that you are eligible to redeem loyalty rewards points or receive rebates to purchase a phone, attempting to gain your trust. In return, scammers will request for financial details (e.g. bank name, OTP, etc.).

4. Threat of service suspension

When you express suspicion, the scammers may threaten to suspend your line. Scammers may follow up with you via WhatsApp calls to convince their legitimacy. Note that scammers can suspend your line as they have access to your app if you have provided them with the OTP.

Important Reminder:
