Gray Three was the call sign used by the third pilot of Gray Squadron or Gray Flight. Both Rebel Alliance and New Republic starfighter squadrons used these designations, and several individuals used the call sign Gray Three.

History[]

Approximately two months after the Battle of Yavin,^[5] Princess Leia Organa's covert Rebel T-65 X-wing starfighter squadron, Gray Flight, used the call sign Gray Three to refer to both the two-person flight group of Gram Cortess and Ardana Cinn, and Tess Alder as an individual.^[1]

At the Battle of Endor, Rebel pilot Lieutenant Ekelarc Yong was designated Gray Three, flying a BTL Y-wing starfighter with astromech droid R5-P9^[3] as part of Gray Squadron.^[4]

New Republic pilot Falynn Sandskimmer was the third member of Gray Squadron prior to its adoption of its permanent designation, Wraith Squadron. Fellow Wraith Lieutenant Wes Janson would use the same call sign during the squadron's time posing as the crew of the CR90 corvette Night Caller, which was aligned with Imperial Warlord Zsinj. Flying its complement of TIE/LN starfighters, the Wraiths adopted the designation of Gray Flight. Janson participated in the Battle of Ession as Gray Three.^[2]
