A viewscreen, also known as a holoscreen,^[1] or as a display screen,^[2] was a device for displaying images or information for the view of an audience.^[1] The main component of a viewscreen was the alloy transparisteel, which was made of the mineral lommite.^[3]

The Trade Federation used rippling circular viewscreens aboard its Lucrehulk-class battleships.^[4] Darth Vader Force choked Admiral Kendal Ozzel at a great distance while seeing him through a viewscreen.^[5] Pentagonal viewscreens were common in the Galactic Empire, as exemplified by those aboard the first^[6] and second Death Star,^[7] aboard the the Super Star Destroyer Executor,^[5] and in the shield generator bunker on Endor.^[7]
