A viewscreen, also known as a holoscreen,[1] or as a display screen,[2] was a device for displaying images or information for the view of an audience.[1] The main component of a viewscreen was the alloy transparisteel, which was made of the mineral lommite.[3]
The Trade Federation used rippling circular viewscreens aboard its Lucrehulk-class battleships.[4] Darth Vader Force choked Admiral Kendal Ozzel at a great distance while seeing him through a viewscreen.[5] Pentagonal viewscreens were common in the Galactic Empire, as exemplified by those aboard the first[6] and second Death Star,[7] aboard the the Super Star Destroyer Executor,[5] and in the shield generator bunker on Endor.[7]
