Bidding report (Deprecated)

Bidding report (Deprecated)

Note: The AdMob Network, Bidding, and Mediation reports are deprecated. The Mediation and AdMob Network reports are now available as ready-made reports, which are part of the Ads Activity report.

You can still view legacy Bidding reports, but cannot update or save them. Any saved AdMob Network or Mediation legacy reports were migrated to the Ads Activity report in early 2023.

The bidding report is a pre-made default report provided by AdMob. It can be used as a standalone report, or you can make changes to its filters, dimensions, and metrics and save it as a new report.

Filters

Functionally, filters hide unnecessary or unwanted data from your reports. When you select a filter, you're defining what you want to have in the report, and AdMob will hide anything that doesn't match the criteria in its filters.

The following are available for this report and saved reports:

Dimensions

Functionally, dimensions determine how your report is organized. For example, if you wanted to view your earnings broken down by countries, you could add the country dimension. Adding new dimensions further reorganizes and refines the data.

The following are available for this report and saved reports:

  • Ad source: View performance by ad source. Ad source measures mediation traffic, and it can include direct sales, custom events, house ads, or third-party ad networks.
  • Ad unit: View performance for individual ad units.
  • App: View performance by app.
  • App version: View performance by app version. App versions distinguish each of your app updates.
Note: App version data is not available in AdMob reporting prior to July 19, 2020.
  • Country: View performance broken down by the country of visitors that have viewed ads on your app.
  • Date: View performance by date.
  • Format: View performance by ad format (e.g., Banner, Interstitial).
If you've upgraded ad units from legacy AdMob, you may also see "Any" listed under format. This indicates that the ad unit could request either banner or interstitial ads. This only applies to ad units that were upgraded from legacy AdMob (pre-2014), and all new ad units created in AdMob will be either banner or interstitial.
  • Mediation group: View performance by mediation group.
  • Month: View performance by month.
  • Platform: View performance broken down by device platform.
    • Android
    • iOS
  • Week: View performance by week.

Metrics

Functionally, metrics represent the kinds of data or values contained in a report. They're usually arranged in columns and contain numbers or percentages. When dimensions are added, metric values are recalculated based on the new order or groupings the dimensions create. Adding or removing metrics adds or removes a column of information from the report.

Bids in auction

The number of bids submitted by the ad source that participated in bidding auctions.

Note: Not all bids submitted participate in bidding auctions. Bids must meet the criteria of the auction, such as minimum eCPM or ad format types.

Bids in auction (%)

The percentage of bids that participated in bidding auctions.

It’s calculated by dividing bids in auction by bid requests:

Bids in auction / Bid requests

For example, if the ad source submitted 20 bids out of 1000 bid requests, it would be 2%.

Bid requests

The number of requests made to a bidding ad source.

Clicks

The number of times users click an ad.

eCPM

The estimated earnings accrued for every 1000 impressions an ad receives. It's calculated by dividing estimated earnings by the number of impressions received, then multiplying by 1000:

(Estimated earnings / Impressions) * 1000

Eligible requests

The number of ad requests that are eligible for bidding.

To be eligible for bidding, the ad request must be sent to a mediation group that includes bidding ad sources, and those ad sources must be able to participate in the auction for the ad unit.

This metric is deprecated and will be removed soon. Learn more about this change.

Est. earnings

Your earnings accrued so far. This amount is an estimate that is subject to change when your earnings are verified for accuracy at the end of every month.

Note: Revenue from most bidding ad sources will be paid through AdMob. For Direct Pay ad sources, revenue is paid to you directly from the ad source.

Impressions

The total number of ads show to users.

Winning bids

The number of bids that won a bidding auction.

Winning bids (%)

The percentage of bids that won a bidding auction.

It’s calculated by dividing winning bids by bids in auction:

Winning bids / Bids in auction

Winning bids matched

The number of winning bids that resulted in an ad being served to your app.

Note: If there are ad sources in the mediation waterfall with a higher eCPM than the winning bid, those ad sources will be called first - not the bidding winning bid. However, if they don’t have an ad to serve, the bidding ad source will serve the ad.

Winning bids matched (%)

The percentage of winning bids that resulted in an ad being served to your app.

It's calculated by dividing winning bids matched by winning bids:

Winning bids matched / Winning bids

For example, if the ad source served 10 ads out of winning 100 auctions, the winning bids matched would be 10%.
