Get suggestions to share with your contacts

Find suggestions to add photos to a shared album 

If you receive a shared album, you may find suggestions to add photos to that album based on information like time the photos were taken, location, or faces in the photos. You’ll only find suggestions based on faces if you have Face Groups enabled. To check suggestions to add to a shared album:

  1. On your mobile device, open the Google Photos app Photos.
  2. At the bottom, tap Collections and then Albums.
    • To find the albums you want, switch between “All,” “Shared with me,” and “My albums.”
    • Shared albums with suggestions to add appears with “Add related photos?” below the title of the album.
  3. Tap on the album.
  4. To review and add the suggested items, tap Review.
  5. To dismiss the suggestion, tap No thanks.

Find skipped suggestions & delete or review them

If you delete a skipped suggestion, you’ll remove all info about it, including whether you’ve skipped it before. You may find a similar card later.

  1. On your mobile device, open the Google Photos app Photos.
  2. At the top, tap your account Profile picture or Initial and then Google Photos settings.
  3. Tap Sharing and then Skipped suggestions and thenReview or Delete.

Turn off notifications

When you take new photos, you may get a notification to share these photos.

  1. On your mobile device, open the Google Photos app Photos.
  2. At the top, tap your account Profile picture or Initial and then Google Photos settings.
  3. Tap Sharing and then Notifications.
  4. Turn off Suggested sharing.
