Neil Alden Armstrong (August 5, 1930August 25, 2012) was a NASA astronaut and commander on the Apollo 11 mission.

Ghosts of Yesterday

Armstrong trained hard for his chosen field of work, and was one of the three astronauts of Apollo 11 when its Saturn V rocket launched from Kennedy Space Center in 1969. After successful launch, he reported back to Mission Control that they were on course for the Moon. Unknown to anyone involved, at the same time the far more advanced spacecraft Ghost 1 was being launched from the Sector Seven High Arctic Base in the north Arctic. Ghosts of Yesterday

After a disturbance on the Moon, Neil and his team were selected to investigate the situation, using the cover story of being the manned expedition to the Moon. While on the Moon, the Apollo mission feigned a period of interrupted radio communications. This gave Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin twenty-one minutes to investigate a wrecked spacecraft of alien origin without the knowledge of the general public. Dark of the Moon

Neil Armstrong’s involvement in the preceding events, or events mostly similar, were also chronicled in the novels "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" and "Transformers: Dark of the Moon: The Junior Novel," the comic mini-series "Transformers: Dark of the Moon Movie Adaptation," and the storybook "The Lost Autobot."
