Sam in Danger

The Decepticons distract the Autobots in an attempt to capture Sam.

Synopsis

Part 1

Within the NEST base, an alarm goes off, indicating Decepticon activity in Japan. Lennox runs to the hangar to alert Optimus Prime that they need to get to Tokyo. Optimus, Ironhide, Sideswipe and Ratchet board an Air Force plane.

Driving through Tokyo, Sideswipe spots a suspicious police car — it's Barricade! The pair clash until Optimus transforms and lifts Barricade into the air, but before he can follow through, he's hit by missiles from a hovering helicopter. The other Autobots distract the copter while Optimus climbs up the side of a nearby office block and punches it out of the air. Grindor crashes into Barricade, but as Optimus stands triumphant, Grindor gloats that their goal was simply to lure the Autobots there. Optimus and Lennox realise the attack was a diversion so the Decepticons could go after Sam.

Part 2

In America, Ron Witwicky is gardening while Sam is bored with doing homework, and has the urge to go driving in Bumblebee. Before Sam can grab his keys, Starscream puts a fist through the wall and tries to grab him. Sam runs for the garage, but Bumblebee has already noticed the disturbance and attacks the Decepticon. Starscream easily throws Bumblebee around and, grabbing Sam, starts walking down the street. Luckily the cavalry has arrived — Starscream freezes at the sight of Optimus Prime standing before him, and Sam is able to wriggle free before Optimus tackles the foe. The fight is brief, as Starscream immediately takes to the air and flees. Sam surveys the devastation and muses that his father's gonna kill him.

Notes

• This story fits chronologically between the first two movies, though it's unclear exactly why the Decepticons are after Sam this time. They don't know he has an AllSpark fragment yet, after all.
• Accompanying the story are stock pictures of Sideswipe, Ratchet, Bumblebee, Optimus, and Starscream.

Errors

• Ron Witwicky disappears when Starscream arrives, and it's not explained exactly where he went.
• How the heck did the Autobots get back from Tokyo so fast?
• After appearing in front of Starscream, Optimus somehow leaps onto his back.
