You know, your head actually looks a lot like Roadhandler and Cheetor.

Tacker (タッカー Takkā), known as the Multiforce's "Warrior of the Fire", is very much the opposite of his companion Dash. He is methodical, serious-minded, and always thinks hard about the situation before acting. With a wealth of military history in his databanks, he is the team's strategist, always carefully plotting out their next move.

But do not mistake this for hesitance or weakness. Tacker is a hardened soldier despite his relative youth, and his ability to manipulate and direct magma flows is dangerous enough on its own. But when combined with Dash's solar powers in their combined Dashtacker form, the pair can melt through Decepticons with ease.

I want to tell you about the Transformers!

Micromaster

While testing out stealth technology, Tacker and the rest of the Multiforce stumbled through a dimensional rift that brought them to years into the past. There, Micromasters battled over Mount St. Hillary, where Optimus Prime, Megatron, and their troops slumbered within the Ark. Before Wing could introduce him to the local Autobots, the Multiforce had to head out to meet a Decepticon threat. He combined with Dash to form Dashtacker and helped taking on the Decepticon Sixbuilders. Tacker then combined with the rest of the Multiforce into Landcross to send Berserker Sixwing packing. The Menace of Landcross's Combining Formation!

Ask Vector Prime

The Multiforce followed the normal flow of time to return to their native period, making sure to not interfere with events they knew had to transpire. To this end, they avoided the other Transformers and explored the Skomiloch Territories and clashed with the Predators. Their journey enabled them to be able to stop the Praetorian from using the corrupted Reconfiguration Matrix to rewrite all robotic life in the Vega Sector into loyal Scrapmetal. Victory comic

The Multiforce was summoned to Earth by Star Saber and battled Dinoking as Landcross. After defeating Dinoking, Landcross separated in order to swarm Deathsaurus with superior numbers. So Cool! Our Ally, Star Saber!

After having lost a battle to Deathsaurus as Landcross, and being subsequently rescued by Star Saber, Tacker helped rescue the animals hurt by the forest fire caused by the Decepticon Emperor. Great Reversal! Star Saber

Tacker also fought against the Decepticons inside their space base as it was raining down meteors onto the Earth. The war ended peacefully with a truce between both factions. The Grand Victory War

Toys

Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers

Victory-toy Tacker.jpg
  • Dashtacer [sic] (Multiforce, 1989)
  • ID number: C-317
  • Accessories: "Multi-Tacker Gun", Landcross footplate
  • Known designers: Kōjin Ōno (TakaraTomy)
Sold in a two-pack with his partner Dash in the Victory portion of Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers toyline, Tacker transforms into a green covered halftrack vehicle of indeterminate, probably-made-up model. In vehicle mode, he can mount Landcross's footplate on his roof as a double-cannon.
He can also transform into either the upper or lower half of a two-robot combiner, though his nominal combination is with his pack-in partner Dash, forming the bottom half of Dashtacker.
He can also also form any limb to Landcross, with his default placement as the right leg. If used as a leg, Tackle needs to be used as the other leg, otherwise the two legs will be very different lengths. In theory he can also form part of the super robot torso (as the entire team shares the same general engineering and transformation scheme), but he lacks the proper connections to attach limb-bots or super robot armor.
In 1995, the three Multiforce two-packs were released in mainland China as part of the severely-delayed Hasbro-distributed Chinese Transformers toyline. They came in slightly-modified versions of their original packaging, with the characters' names now written in Chinese, and the Japanese Transformers logo replaced with a similarly styled Chinese language logo saying "Battles of Victory" (胜利之斗争). They toys themselves are also slightly modified, with their molded-on legal/manufacturing information blotted out and modified to remove Takara's name.

  • Landcross (Multiforce gift set, 1989)
  • ID number: C-319
  • Accessories: "Multi-Tacker Gun", Landcross footplate
  • Known designers: Kōjin Ōno (TakaraTomy)
Tacker was also available in a gift set containing the entire Multiforce team. All of the toys in this set are physically identical to their individual releases.
However, this set does not include the bio/trading cards for any of the component duos, only the combined Landcross mode.

Micromaster

  • Tacker (DX Micromaster, 2004)
  • Multiforce number: 4
  • Accessories: "Multi-Tacker Gun", Landcross footplate
Released in the final wave of Micromaster as a "DX Micromaster", this reissue of Tacker was sold in a single-bot box. The box has a small hole in the front to show a number printed on the instructions, revealing which toy is inside.
Tacker's re-release deco has changed more than most of his teammates. Along with the change from black to dark gray joint plastic shared with the rest of the team, his green plastic is now a darker, less-saturated shade. His treads have changed from silver to black, and both his robot faces lose the blue paint, only retaining it on his optics. An Autobot symbol tampograph was added to the left-rear of his canopy.

  • Tacker Stealth Mode (DX Micromaster, 2004)
  • Multiforce number: 4
  • Accessories: "Multi-Tacker Gun", Landcross footplate
A special "chase" version of Tacker was also available, in mostly black plastic and minimal paint operations.
All six members were available in "stealth mode", but only two out of every twelve toys in a case were black versions, and which two the case had was randomized. And no, you can't peek in through the hole in the box to see if it's a chase or not, as the instructions block it off.

Notes

TackerUS boxart.jpg
  • The packaging for Dashtacker gives his name in English as Dashtacer, implying that Tacker himself is named Tacer. This is essentially incompatible with the pronunciation of his name given in katakana, so it must be a typo.
  • Hasbro evidently planned a U.S. release of the Multiforce long enough for Tacker, Tackle, and Mach to receive dedicated packaging art (at right), which was eventually uncovered and published by Jim Sorenson and Bill Forster in Legacy: The Art of Transformers Packaging.
