ACC #326949
Hi Amanda,
On ACC request #326949 you left a comment instructing creation, but you didn't defer it back to the users queue. Was that on purpose (i.e. were you not actually done with that request), or can I go ahead and create that account?

Username blacklist addition?
Hi Amanda, in regards to Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard#Celebrities are joining Wikipedia as publicity stunts, would it be appropriate to add /^Actually/ to the username blacklist? I am not sure if the activity would be considered disruptive or against policy, but it's something to look out for. Elizium23 (talk) 13:04, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
- Personally from a quick look, I don't think that there is enough evidence of problematic behavoir to warrant an addition. But if more stuff comes to light, feel free to request at User talk:AmandaNP/UAA/Blacklist. Instructions are at the top of the page. -- Amanda (she/her) 21:19, 23 December 2022 (UTC)

Hi Amanda. I realise you acted in good faith and caution but IMO your unblocking so soon was was possibly too charitable. And I am definitely not saying this as a conominator of that RfA. When I used to work a lot at SPI before I practically retired I would have said it quacks, but we all see things differently. There nevertheless certainly appears to be something distinctly odd going on with them unless you have evidence provided by the CU tool that everything is above board. Happy New Year! Hi I really need help.
Hi there I really need an admin's help in blocking a user that is vandalizing an article. They have been changing and reverting it. The article is Indonesia national under-20 football team, and user is an IP address (2001:448A:50E0:A0A9:3873:DD4F:E28E:D2AF). You can find it in the history, he made a lot of wrong edits.

ArbClerkBot question
Hello! Quick Q about ArbClerkBot - is it possible to turn off the automatic adding of links to WT:ACN for a specific section? The context is that for this announcement we really want to direct people to the comments section at the motion - Thryduulf sensibly mentioned that here, and I tried to remove the link, but the bot added it back! :) firefly ( t · c ) 13:40, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
- I could just add a one liner exempting that section, but that seems improper for coding. I'm thinking it might be best to do something like a sectional {{nobots}}. But alas I can't look at that option until after work today. -- Amanda (she/her) 15:36, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

many thanks!
Im my dozen-and-a-half years of editing, I've only twice encountered eerie confluences of editors and coincidence. Since such things actually happen maliciously extensively, I greatly appreciate your confirmation that the editors at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/GuardianH aren't involved in sock- or meat-puppetry. It was just a little too on-the-nose for my... gut instinct?, and you've Peptoed that concern! Both this time and my last, administrators like you (and User:331dot, who patiently assured me it was appropriate to file in the first place) were able to come in with the higher-level tools and big-picture understanding to solve my other-editor worries. Thankfully this check wrapped up much faster, and that quickness of analysis and closure was terrific. Thanks again, ma'am! — Fourthords | =Λ= | 20:50, 19 March 2023 (UTC)

Question about IP block exempt
Hi AmandaNP, thank you for granting me the global IP block exempt right. I couldn't find another way to ask you (I am yet to be confirmed at metawiki), so I'll ask you here: I requested my block exempt by using this laptop, but does it work on my phone? If no, how to make it work? Please answer me as I need to know whether I can use my phone to edit in Mainland China (where I will have a vacation). Thanks! Timothytyy (talk) 14:31, 5 April 2023 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) @Timothytyy: IPBE is tied to your account, not the device you're using — you should be able to edit from any device providing you're logged in to this account. — TheresNoTime (talk • they/them) 14:51, 5 April 2023 (UTC)
- I'll add something. GIPBE allows you to override global blocks and Tor blocks. It doesn't allow you to override local blocks, which are more than likely to coincide with global blocks on this wiki. I'll add local IPBE for the duration of your stated vacation, meaning on this wiki you will be able to override any blocks (as long as you're logged in). -- zzuuzz (talk) 16:03, 5 April 2023 (UTC)

Starship 24
I noted that you blocked User:Starship 24 for block evasion (previously blocked on es.wikipedia), citing two IP accounts, without identifying them, as far as I could see. [1] Maybe I missed something. My suspicion has been that Spaceship 24 is a sock of blocked User:Starship SN20 and the two IP users that they self-identified as User:100.2.238.109and User:71.183.212.131. I was thinking about a sockpuppet template, but didn't want to jump the gun without confirmation, since I didn't see a SPI (unless I just missed it). Any information you can share to that end? Banks Irk (talk) 23:17, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
- I didn't see Starship SN20 when I ran the CU, but they are also Stale. For the IPs, I can't say a damn thing about them. But IP tags are mostly useless anyway. If you want to make the connection to Starship SN20, you are free to file an SPI case and establish that connection through behavoir. -- Amanda (she/her) 23:42, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
- I suppose that since CU would be stale, there's no way to confirm 100%. My suspicion is based on not only where they edited - principally space-related topics and the Ukraine war plus various dramaboards - and the extravagant and abusive use RedWarn right out of the box for both usernames...not something I'd expect for any genuine novice editor. I suppose it's enough that they're blocked without posting a duplicative SPI. Thanks again for the information. Banks Irk (talk) 00:04, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- It wouldn't be a duplicative SPI, I didn't make any original SPI for it, simply because it was all ANPDP covered. -- Amanda (she/her) 00:06, 12 April 2023 (UTC)

Wales's remaining rights
Hello, just a question from the clue-deficient peanut gallery here. I believe [3] says Wales has relinquished all the special rights associated with his founder flag, which is now just a "kindness" courtesy as he put it. I wonder whether you think it would still be a good idea for him to keep these: browsearchive, deletedhistory, deletedtext, titleblacklistlog, abusefilter-view-private, abusefilter-log-private. Honestly, I don't really know what they all do, but by their names I gather they are read-only rights which it might be a good idea that he keeps. In as far as I can guess what they do, I suspect it might be a good idea for those to remain. I wanted to ask you instead of in the case or somewhere with higher visibility. (I predict someone will nominate him for adminship and he will pass if he accepts, but as far as I understand, those rights apply to all projects.) Sandizer (talk) 22:04, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not really here to make a determination of what a good idea is to keep or not in general, especially since I'm only one editor. To that affect, the key ask in my case request wasn't rights removal. That said, I, as a single individual editor think that the delete page permissions are no big deal and may still be helpful to Jimbo. The two that are concerning are the abusefilter ones. I forget which ones include the ability to see CU/OS data through the abusefilter, but if he's resigned CU/OS, those should not remain. -- Amanda (she/her) 22:18, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you. I will leave it to others who know what they all do and are so inclined to make such a request. Sandizer (talk) 22:23, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- abusefilter-view-private and abusefilter-log-private are standard rights given to all admins (and edit filter helpers), and only allow viewing filters marked as private. The CU-type AbuseFilter rights are abusefilter-privatedetails and abusefilter-privatedetails-log, and the OS-type rights are abusefilter-hide-log and abusefilter-hidden-log - none of which he appears to have currently. stwalkerster (talk) 22:46, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

Banned user is still active related to Wikipedia topic off-wiki?
Hi, this is a little bit harsh issue.
On 4 December 2022, you locked user:PlanespotterA320. After a long and hard debate, this one was finally banned by community on 24 February 2023, then was banned by WMF Office action on 17 March 2023. However, they are active on Reddit as u/WikipediaHistorian, till today, see active log on Reddit. Their most comments are about recruiting puppets to make edits on English Wikipedia, libelling our project and something like that.
Meh, do we have contact with admins on that channel to give her a final stop? -Lemonaka 05:48, 15 April 2023 (UTC)
- At this point, it doesn't really matter. For onwiki stuff, We can treat meatpuppets as socks if there is no difference, users can't proxy edits on behalf of a banned user, they are directly responsible for the ones they make and if they are really as disruptive, they will get banned on their own. Worrying about this is just more stress, just deal with it when it comes up.
- If you are referring more to the content they are throwing up on reddit, that's reddit's problem. You can report anything you don't like about you to them if it's appropriate per their policies. But we have no reason/need to be involved in their issues, unless it directly involves defamation, which is a pretty high standard. -- Amanda (she/her) 15:23, 15 April 2023 (UTC)

Good morning. You checkuser-blocked CPR9818 nine years ago. I'm not expecting you to remember the details and I'm certainly not here to appeal it. - Following an RfC, editors indefinitely site-banned by community consensus will now have all rights, including sysop, removed.
- As a part of the Wikimedia Foundation's IP Masking project, a new policy has been created that governs the access to temporary account IP addresses. An associated FAQ has been created and individual communities can increase the requirements to view temporary account IP addresses.
- Bot operators and tool maintainers should schedule time in the coming months to test and update their tools for the effects of IP masking. IP masking will not be deployed to any content wiki until at least October 2023 and is unlikely to be deployed to the English Wikipedia until some time in 2024.
- The arbitration case World War II and the history of Jews in Poland has been closed. The topic area of Polish history during World War II (1933-1945) and the history of Jews in Poland is subject to a "reliable source consensus-required" contentious topic restriction.
- Following a community referendum, the arbitration policy has been modified to remove the ability for users to appeal remedies to Jimbo Wales.

- I have no issue locally creating the accounts on that basis. The problem I run into is giving them IPBE. You have given zero information about the block, your event (like a link), or previous venues where I may have been involved/have context. I will need more before mass granting IPBE. -- Amanda (she/her) 03:21, 24 June 2023 (UTC)

IP block exemption
Greetings, thank you for taking time to respond to me on meta. As I stated in my request here, despite their IP not being an open proxy, the block still affect them. An IP block exempt here on this local wiki will be helpful. Please find a link to the event dashboard here.-- Robertjamal12 ~🔔 06:41, 27 June 2023 (UTC)
- I am personally not a fan of how we block P2P IPs, but that's a community discussion, not one for my talk. I also normally don't process local exemptions, but given you've already requested at the global level, i'll make an exception. I have granted IPBE for 6 months to all but 3(?) users who already had longer exemptions. Please monitor, and ask for removal if someone leaves your program. -- Amanda (she/her) 07:09, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

Recent changes
- We are now serving 1% of all global user traffic from Kubernetes (you can read more technical details). We are planning to increment this percentage regularly. You can follow the progress of this work.
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 18 July. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 19 July. It will be on all wikis from 20 July (calendar).
- MediaWiki system messages will now look for available local fallbacks, instead of always using the default fallback defined by software. This means wikis no longer need to override each language on the fallback chain separately. For example, English Wikipedia doesn't have to create
en-ca
anden-gb
subpages with a transclusion of the base pages anymore. This makes it easier to maintain local overrides. [4] - The
action=growthsetmentorstatus
API will be deprecated with the new MediaWiki version. Bots or scripts calling that API should use theaction=growthmanagementorlist
API now. [5]

- @Dnshitobu: I assume you have been referred here by someone in my talkpage archives. I have a few problems with your request 1) You are requesting this mere hours before your event, which means I have to scramble and deal with the lack of planning from your event. We are now 7am UTC on the event day and this is the first I am seeing it. 2) The previous requestor in which I granted this to had 3000+ edits on Wikipedia, showing a clear understanding of enwiki policies. They provided a link to the event they are running which directly showed the participants. You haven't provided any information about the block you are facing. Granting IPBE is all about risk mitigation, and is not something that is handed out easily. I'm not seeing enough background to understand why IPBE is needed, and why this request can be trusted.
- @Robertjamal12: You may know the source of where these people are coming from given I had granted your requests. If so, could you communicate that advanced notice is needed along with information about the event itself for anyone asking down the road? -- Amanda (she/her) 07:16, 29 July 2023 (UTC)

- Actually now that I rereviewed, that IP should still be anon-only blocked globally, as HydraCom does a solid amount of webhosting. But either way, your UTRS ticket was for the global IP block. You didn't file anything about the local one. Either way, I've asked the blocking admin to move to anon-only. -- Amanda (she/her) 22:53, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
- @AmandaNP: I thought it would unblock me from all Wikimedia sites, as the name implies "Global". Should I ask for an unblock on EN Wiki and the other sites I edit on? Thanks. 多多123 10:39, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
- Global Block exemptions are for global blocks only. Local block exemptions override both local and global exemptions. I got the original admin to reduce the block to anon-only on the one you mentioned above. But either way, at this point, if you expirience any more blocks, it's because they are local, and have nothing to do with global blocks or GIPBE. -- Amanda (she/her) 12:51, 8 August 2023 (UTC)

Interface administrator changes
- The tag filter on Special:NewPages and revision history pages can now be inverted. This allows hiding edits made by automated tools. (T334338)
- Special:BlockedExternalDomains is a new tool that allows easier blocking of plain domains (and their subdomains). This is more easily searchable and is faster for the software to use than the existing MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist. It does not support regex (for complex cases), URL path-matching, or the MediaWiki:Spam-whitelist. (T337431)
- The arbitration cases named Scottywong and AlisonW closed 10 July and 16 July respectively.

- I appreciate your linking your event/background, but that is only one thing of what I mentioned last time. You have not mentioned what IP block they would be facing, and as I understand it, this would not be centralized at one event, but working from their homes. We don't just give out IPBE like candy. You need to have a legitimate reason for each and every user that needs it. Ideally if this is a home based event, they should be seeking the proper procedure. You also only have 200ish edits. I can't say if you fully understand the policies surrounding this to be able to mass grant this and trust you will supervise these users sufficiently. -- Amanda (she/her) 05:38, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
- @AmandaNP Thank you for your comment. They are mainly contributors on the Gurene Wikipedia, Wikidata and Commons. We are only asking for the exemptions for the mentioned Wikis. Because of the "unjustified or mass blocking of IP" without recourse to the previous edits of the person. Because of this mass blocking of IPs for no fault of the users, it is discouraging for most volunteers to contribute on the English Wikipedia and sometimes wonder what they have done wrong to warrant such blocks. Someone like [[User:Atalata Gumah]] and [[User:Ayinemah]] have been on me asking daily if they have done something wrong for the blocks. They currently have translated content they wish to publish yet they are blocked. If we actually want to champion bridging the digital divide because of language barriers, we should walk our talk. The blocks are killing the interest of genuine volunteers if you care to know. IPBE are not candies, that I know very well but doing targeted blocks to spammers. I don't know if you saw this spam My attention was drawn to that spam and I fixed it because we all care. That should be the spirit. I don't have any parochial interest in their exemption except for the good will we are all working towards. It is fine if you feel they don't deserve it because I haven't provided enough evidence for that. peace! Dnshitobu (talk) 14:15, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

DeltaQuadBot
Hello @AmandaNP!
I'm seeking a better understanding of the maintenance activities of certain bots. I noticed recent edits made by 'DatBot' and 'DeltaQuadBot' on File:Butt Boy poster.jpeg, including the addition of "orphaned non-free revisions tags" and the deletion of "orphaned non-free files". Could you kindly provide some clarification? Is there something I'm doing wrong when uploading such photos (film posters?). I appreciate your time and your dedication to Wikipedia! Mooonswimmer 02:29, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Mooonswimmer: DatBot is the bot that reduces the size of the image to comply with WP:IMAGERES. The bot then tags the page so that an admin can come along and revision delete the larger image, since it's no longer in-use and WP:NFCC requires that we only host non-free images that are in use in the article space. DeltaQuadBot is an adminbot that comes along and automatically performs the image revdel sevenish days after the image is tagged a having non-free revisions that are no longer in use. - All right-to-left language wikis, plus Korean, Armenian, Ukrainian, Russian, and Bulgarian Wikipedias, will have a link in the sidebar that provides a short URL of that page, using the Wikimedia URL Shortener. This feature will come to more wikis in future weeks. [13]
Future changes
- The removal of the DoubleWiki extension is being discussed. This extension currently allows Wikisource users to view articles from multiple language versions side by side when the
<=>
symbol next to a specific language edition is selected. Comments on this are welcomed at the phabricator task. - A proposal has been made to merge the second hidden-categories list (which appears below the wikitext editing form) with the main list of categories (which is further down the page). More information is available on Phabricator; feedback is welcome!

DeltaQuadBot vs. OutreachDashboardBot
Hi Amanda. I thought I'd bring to your attention something that was happening a few years ago, and is now happening again. It's this and this. I've tried adding OutreachDashboardBot to the whitelist[14] as I did before, but that doesn't seem to work as it did before. The Anome did a thing here so I don't know if they know something I don't. But I have no ideas. -- zzuuzz (talk) 15:37, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
- After pulling a 12 hour shift, I'm no where close to be able to diag what is going on, I just tried. I've hard coded an exception and uploaded the code. I'm hoping that works for now, and maybe i'll try and look this weekend. -- Amanda (she/her) 02:27, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
- A cursory look today appears it is fixed. If it comes back, please let me know. -- Amanda (she/her) 21:28, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks. OutreachDashboardBot is not used full time, and hasn't created any accounts since my note above. That aside... thanks for looking, I'll keep an eye out for it. -- zzuuzz (talk) 21:32, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Zzuuzz ping me if you need anything done on the OutreachDashboardBot side please ping me; it is authorized and flagged. It doesn't make edits, only creates accounts. — xaosflux Talk 22:26, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux: Likewise you'll have to let Amanda know if anything breaks for OutreachDashboardBot (probably unlikely). I don't think it's much to do with the bot per se, that's just the most active account creator with a flaggable name. The bug has been there for a very long time.[15] Assuming the bug is unfathomable, I guess the real question is why the whitelist entry is (was) not currently working. -- zzuuzz (talk) 11:21, 31 August 2023 (UTC)

Question about some ancient socks
Do you think there's any possibility that BillJohnson0003 (talk · contribs) and ItsLassieTime (talk · contribs) are related? I'm about to examine Santa Claus as part of the ItsLassieTime CCI. I've noticed that the socks of both users have edited the article extensively and I don't want to miss any potential copyvios. I considered raising this inquiry on MuZemike's talk page, but I decided to ask you since he's no longer a CheckUser and doesn't seem to be very active. Thanks, — SamX [talk · contribs] 18:06, 1 September 2023 (UTC)

- Thanks, that's all I really needed to know. I'm fairly familiar with ILT's interests and BillJohnson0003 seems to be a self-promotional SPA, so that's enough for me to be confident that they aren't related. — SamX [talk · contribs] 21:35, 1 September 2023 (UTC)

Hi, sorry but I didn’t understand why you blocked this user? [17] 9002Jack (talk) 20:18, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
- I can't disclose the reason as it involves CheckUser data. That said, it is not blocked on itwiki as you can see, it's been disabled/given an exemption on that wiki. -- Amanda (she/her) 04:36, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
Admin awareness
Hi, by the look of things you may be too high-up to concern yourself with this, so feel free to kick this matter to someone further down the chain as appropriate, but I would like at least someone admin-ish to be aware of this interaction, because it doesn't feel quite right to me the way that's developing. I don't know who the other party is on Wikipedia, whether they have special privileges, whether they're admin-adjacent, etc., and I don't know how I could check that, and I don't strictly need to know, and I'm not asking for any particular action to be taken at this point, save for that I'd just like someone suitable to be aware, and I'd like to preserve a record for others to see. I think it all started out kinda okay, but it's moving to the point where it's getting close to Wednesbury unreasonableness. There seems to be increasing attempted over-enforcement, with attempts to take some broadly helpful guidelines extremely literally, all by someone who for all I know might be just another user. I think they're basically trying to throw the book at me to "win" what they can't win on the merits.
What convinced me to actively seek third-party supervisory attention was that this user attempted to prohibit me from cosmetically editing my own comments, and then they edited my comment and literally boxed me in, with a not-so friendly box-header labelling the now boxed-in contents to be a "lecture" – after lecturing me out-of-band, in a way other readers of the Talk page conversation would have missed had I not noted that for the record (in the edit summary), and after effectively saying they hadn't given what they'd boxed in a full read (they'd only skimmed it, they said).
Basically, I don't really want to talk to that particular interlocutor anymore if I can avoid it. None of us is truly alone on Wikipedia, and I've edited—and would like to continue to be able to edit—my own comments for clarity, not to mislead, but just in case third parties come along and read them, whence they can come to their own conclusions, and maybe decide to respond or pick up the baton, maybe even much later. Actually, second thought, maybe I would like it if to that end, someone not me, but with genuine authority to lord it over others without being a mere self-appointed authoritarian would revert the boxing-in edit, because that box seems punitive, and it's really messing with the way others will see the conversation, but according to that user's "rules", I can't revert their edit of my comment, but apparently they felt empowered to edit mine.
Suffice it to say that if that person isn't an admin, I would hope they don't become one, at least not unless significant time passes in which they really, really change a lot.
I am mindful that I'm the new account here, which is another reason I'd prefer to have some supervisory awareness, and perhaps vindication of my rights, simply to proactively avoid a LIFO outcome, whether forced or unforced.
Thank you for your time. —ReadOnlyAccount (talk) 00:08, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
PS: I realise this message is, ironically, also out-of-band so far as my public interaction with that other interlocutor is concerned, but I don't know whether I'm yet talking to the person who might handle this, or how you'd like to handle this message to your Talk page. Given how clean it is, it would probably be foolish for me to presume that I could link to something on your Talk page and expect it still be there later. I suppose anyone who's really stalking me can probably see this message in my Contributions.
- I can understand what you are saying through out all of this, but I don't see where you want me to comment. You talk about leaving it alone, but then still want to peruse it, but then talk about seemingly different topics. -- Amanda (she/her) 03:09, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
- Bottom Line Up-Front:
It looks like I was caught in the dragnet of a broad IP range block for a while – and might be again. I would probably need some sort of exemption from IP or IP range blocks if you want to ensure I can keep replying. It seems to be difficult to even ask for that without revealing personal information and while stuck in such a dragnet.
- Bottom Line Up-Front:
- Originally composed message follows:
Here is fine, if that's fine by you. I would like to talk to someone admin-ish, but I'm somewhat unsure I'm in the right place, so if this sounds like something you'd rather delegate, that's perfectly fine. I'm just mindful there may well be a more appropriate person or established mechanism or better channel of communication I'm quite possibly simply unaware of. I mean, I found you, but by the look of things you're possibly quite senior? —ReadOnlyAccount (talk) 14:16, 4 November 2023 (UTC)- IPBE is subject to the standard conditions. I can't just grant it for you to respond, sadly.
- You are likely correct that I'm unlikely the person you are looking for, mostly because I don't edit articles much. That said, I can't refer you anywhere else because I don't know what subject you are asking about. -- Amanda (she/her) 05:54, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
- Originally composed message follows:
Separate request
I apologise for the noise, but while I currently still can talk (to an admin): I've been trying to contact User:JWB (not to be confused with User:JBW), but I'm not eager to give Wikipedia an email address. I can't see if JWB has given Wikipedia their email address. Would you be able to say if they have done that, and if I could thus message them upon coughing up mine? (I do realise I still might not reach them, and they might not reply even if they have registered their email. If you wanted to go above and beyond, you could potentially email them to ping them about my above message on their Talk page. There's a risk I might have trouble replying due to another IP dragnet, but this is just an attempt.) Many thanks. —ReadOnlyAccount (talk) 01:12, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
- They have email enabled, and I'm sorry, but for many different reasons, I don't take actions on behalf of a user that affect another. -- Amanda (she/her) 05:56, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi! I couldn’t help but notice that your user page uses hyphens for dates instead of n-dashes. - Did I miss a memo? MOS only applies to articles unless it's an accessibility issue. Is this an accessibility issue that I don't understand? -- Amanda (she/her) 08:08, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

Account creation request declined
Hello there,
This was almost a year ago, but I feel this needs to be asked. On December 20th 2022, I got this e-mail:
- Dear EPIC,
- Your request for access to the account creation tool has been declined by AmandaNP for the following reason:
- Thank you for your interest in ACC. It appears that at this time you are no longer editing. Please feel free to request again if you return.
- To contest this declination please email enwiki-acc-admins@googlegroups.com.
- For the Account Creation team,
- AmandaNP
Has someone else faked an account creation request in my name, or was this e-mail a mistake or so? I can't see that I have ever submitted an account creation request on this wiki, considering that this is not my home wiki and I had not edited for months when I got this e-mail. Like I said, I don't really know how the account creating system works, and I have never requested an account from here as far as I remember, but is it possible for others to fake account requests from other users or how come I could've gotten this? EPIC (talk) 22:03, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) This was in response to a request by you to join the Account Creation team at WP:ACC - the request was authenticated via OAuth, so it's not possible it was faked. That said, from the time that you signed up to the account creation tool to the time that Amanda responded was lengthy. stwalkerster (talk) 00:08, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- Oh, oki. I found it weird because I have no memory of ever signing up, because yeah, this is not my home wiki. EPIC (talk) 09:50, 18 November 2023 (UTC)

- Following a motion, the Extended Confirmed Restriction has been amended, removing the allowance for non-extended-confirmed editors to post constructive comments on the "Talk:" namespace. Now, non-extended-confirmed editors may use the "Talk:" namespace solely to make edit requests related to articles within the topic area, provided that their actions are not disruptive.
