With his mother working as a disco DJ, Darren was immersed in the funkier, soulful rhythms of the '70s and '80s, a foundation that would later shape his signature sound as a DJ and producer. Early demos caught the attention of Simon Dunmore, the mastermind behind Defected Records, where Darren kicked off his career in the industry before joining Cr2 Records promotions department.
