Overview

The Calera Police Department employs over 40 employees working around the clock, 24/7, to provide the very best protection and service possible to our community. The Police Department covers around 70 square miles of city limits and jurisdiction with over 60 neighborhoods. We answer an average of 35,000 calls for service per year and handle thousands of departmental walk-ins per year.

Our officers are among the best trained and equipped officers in the state, with an up-to-date training room, firing range, and new technology in hardware and software.

Mission

The mission of the Calera Police Department is to be a professional community oriented policing agency.

As law enforcement officers, our fundamental duty is to:
