✨ Celebrating 6 Years of Gold Impact with Vanity Fair! ✨ From a team of volunteers to an industry-defining force, Gold House has spent six years forging cultural excellence and socioeconomic progress for the Asian Pacific community. Here’s how we’ve made an impact together: 🎬 In Narrative Change: we’ve deployed industry-leading research, consulting, investments, and promotion on 400+ major media projects, including Everything Everywhere All At Once (the most-awarded film in history!), to ensure affirming mainstream portrayals. Our Creative Equity Fund has invested in 15 films and 2 animation studios, including the award-winning Dìdi (弟弟), to greenlight more authentic stories. We’ve now expanded our expertise into journalism, advertising, gaming, and food. Through our partnership with OpenTable, we launched the Gold Chef Prize, and brought South Indian flavors to the Prabal Gurung creative-directed Gold Gala with a menu curated by Culinary Directors Padma Lakshmi and Michelin-starred chef Vijay Kumar of Semma and Unapologetic Foods. 💰 In Economic Empowerment: With Gold House Ventures, we’ve invested in 78 companies, our startup accelerator alumni have raised $2 billion, and we’re proud to power the largest top Asian Pacific founder network in North America. With Gold Bridge, we’re connecting Asia and North America for investment and collaboration. Anchored by Gold Prix during Singapore F1 week in partnership with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), we gather 200+ founders and creators to explore Southeast Asia’s market, which is projected to reach $1 trillion by 2030. And on the success of our first fund and global reach, we’re now raising Gold House Ventures II. 🤝 In One House: Partnering with leaders like the Sundance Institute, East West Bank Foundation, and leading multicultural organizations, we have advanced collaboration and capital for diverse filmmakers – with collective convenings during mainstream awards and a first-of-its-kind One House Filmmakers Fund – and reshaped corporate power by securing more than 60 publicly-traded and privately-held Board Director positions. As our full-time Team, Fellows, volunteers, Membership, and network grow, Gold House’s work will continue to power tomorrow for all. Learn more about how we can collaborate and how you can join the movement at goldhouse.org. We're not waiting for a seat at someone else’s table; we’re building our own house. 🔗: goldhouse.org/vanityfair Photography: Huy Doan | Editing: @p_t_gibson

Every Renegades issue, we ask our incredible Asian Pacific changemakers the same question: what did you want to be when you were growing up, and how does that compare to what you do now? Here are some of our favorite answers from 2024. 🤩 Give us YOUR answer in the comments, and read all Renegades interviews at goldhouse.org/renegades.

With the 97th Academy Awards just around the corner, Gold House is excited to spotlight a few of this year's international film submissions. At the first Academy Awards in 1929, no category was dedicated to celebrating international feature films. Although special/honorary awards were presented to international films from 1947 to 1955, it wasn't until 1956 — nearly 30 years later — that the Academy added the merit-based award of "Best Foreign Language Film". Of the 77 films awarded in these categories, only 9 have been from Asian countries. And in 2020, Parasite became the first International Feature Film winner to also win Best Picture. We were honored to propel Parasite to commercial and critical success, and we are excited to continue that tradition with this year's incredible Asian submissions for Best International Feature Film. Swipe through to see some of the films in consideration this year!

1 in 3 Americans are largely unfamiliar with Asian Pacific cultures. Why? Our Research Fellow Diego takes us through our findings on perceptions and stereotypes. 📊 Our inaugural Gold Paper examines the cultural familiarity, stereotypes, visibility, and opportunities for Asian Pacific communities within U.S. society and key industries where we’ve seen growing representation. Perpetuated stereotypes inform perspectives about our diaspora, but our research has shown increasing cultural understanding of Asian Pacific communities and cultures is one way to combat these misperceptions. Congratulations to the cast and crew of Closing Dynasty, Inheritance, and The Resemblance! These three short films, made by Asian filmmakers with support from Gold House's Future Gold Film Fellowship, are now available to stream on Netflix in a new "Fresh Perspective: Short Films" collection. The Film Fellowship, in partnership with Tribeca and Netflix, accelerated 3 filmmakers (Lloyd Lee Choi, Erin Lau, and Derek Nguyen) through funding and promotion for their respective short films. We're incredibly proud to see these fantastic stories now with you at home. Stream all three short films now on Netflix.

Definition of Girl Boss. 🔥🔥🔥 We sat down with the 3 scholarship recipients of the Jenny Jing Zhu Collective and asked what habit they've had to unlearn as an Asian female founder. The Jenny (Jing) Zhu Collective is a collaborative initiative to empower, uplift, and celebrate female founders who break barriers to create lasting legacies. Partnering with author of Dream Weaver: A Memoir and LUSH Decor founder Jenny (Jing) Zhu, the Collective offers executive coaching, mentorship, and exclusive events to 20 hand-picked founders. Among these 20, three exceptional founders are further awarded a $10,000 scholarship for their vision and ingenuity. This year's recipients include: Beau Wangtrakuldee, PhD (CEO of AmorSui , a modern PPE brand) Elle W. (Founder and CEO of Emilia George®️, a motherhood boutique) Lucia Huang (Cofounder and CEO of Osmind, a technology platform for mental health treatment and research) Learn more about the Jenny Jing Zhu Collective at https://lnkd.in/ej7zZiSw!
