Nuru Burkina Faso ensures that women are involved in interventions with local communities. Nuru Burkina Faso Executive Director Aïssetou notes that increased economic independence can disrupt traditional household dynamics though, and in some cases this creates resistance from men in the community. "To mitigate this, Nuru sensitizes men through campaigns or sessions with men and local leaders to raise awareness of the benefits of women’s involvement," Aïssetou shares.
