Once you've created a Sponsored Messaging ad, you’ll have the option to send yourself a test message to preview how the ad will display to members in your target audience.
To send a test of a saved message ad or conversation ad:

Go to your ad account in Campaign Manager.

Click Advertise on the left menu.

Select the correct campaign group and campaign name where the ad is saved.

From the Ads tab, move your cursor over the ad name and click
Edit. -
On the Ads in this campaign page, click the
More icon to the right of the ad and select Send test message from the dropdown. -
A pop-up notification will appear confirming if the test message was sent.

From the Ads in this campaign page, click the
More icon to the right of the ad and select View from the dropdown. -
On the first step of the View your Conversation ad window, you’ll be able to see basic info including the ad name, sender, and optional custom footer and terms of conditions on the left side of the page. From the right side of the page, you’ll be able to interact with a preview of the conversation ad by clicking on CTA buttons.
- Clicking on a CTA button will open the next response. You can click on a different CTA button to view more responses.
- The banner image is not available from this view. To preview the banner image, you can send a test message.

For a more detailed view of the CTA buttons and responses, click Next step.

On the second step of the View your Conversation ad window, you’ll be able to view detailed information about the responses including the button text, corresponding action, destination URL, or attached Lead Gen Form.
- You’ll also be able to interact with a preview of the conversation ad on the right side of this page.
- In addition to selecting CTA buttons, you can click Flowchart to view all CTA buttons and corresponding responses.
- Clicking a CTA button with a destination URL won’t open the corresponding URL.
