The #IoTTechExpo was another reason to showcase my terrible photography and framing skills. And to meet old friends working on safe and scalable environments for connected products. Key takeaways: AI and ML were notable buzzwords. How does that actually safely lay over an existing tech stack (and hardware stack) remains to be demonstrated. How do you test, from a systems perspective, if a connected ecosystem actually works as intended? (Without necessarily having to cycle your devices for countless hours)? Everybody has a platform. This feels counterintuitive to me. How do we change that? And how do innovators come up with architecting an ecosystem that doesn’t become a burden or roadblock to deploying new devices or features later down the road? #IoT #TradeshowLife

NVIDIA tops the Axios Harris Poll 100, which ranks company reputations. FYI, this poll is done using this three-step process: 1. January 2024 Survey: 6,273 Americans identified the 100 most visible companies. 2. March 2024 Survey: 16,500 Americans rated these companies on nine reputation dimensions, creating a Reputational Quotient (RQ®) score. 3. May 2024 Surveys: Two waves of surveys provided additional context on brands and politics.

Does anyone actually run LLMs locally (inside their home lab or similar)? I have been considering it as a connector into Alexa as my kids have hundreds of questions that Alexa almost always fails to answer and would be a great interface for them to discuss things with. Thinking of using GPT4All (https://lnkd.in/en3H55S2) or LM Studio (https://lmstudio.ai/) or similar to run the LLMs, but don't want to try it if no-one else is doing similar.

Very cool to see AWS’s generative AI technologies power the NFL’s My Cause My Cleats initiative. Through our recent collaboration, players were able to design their custom cleats to bring awareness to causes that they care about. How did it work? Behind the scenes, the design experience leveraged Anthropic’s Claude and Stability AI’s Stable Diffusion model in Amazon Bedrock. Claude converted the players’ preferences into a detailed prompt ready for image generation. This prompt was then processed by the Stable Diffusion image generation model in Amazon Bedrock to rapidly generate stunning, high-resolution custom artwork in seconds. Players applied these designs and had the chance to add extra elements like team logos or personalized colors. A great insight from the #CEO of #NVIDIA. In the age of #AI disruption and opportunity how do we handle #rejection when your industry or customers does not see the full value of your idea or product? "Sometimes you have to ignore your customers(stakeholders)" - Jensen Huang. As an aspiring #tech #entrepreneur that has gotten more than his fair share of rejection over the years pitching a wide array of product ideas, many of those nos were disheartening, I am reminded that getting a no does not mean you are always wrong. I've learned so much from every no, far more than I've learned from every yes! My big #takeaway from these experiences is if you believe in an idea , enough to move ahead with great risk there is potential for a great pay off. Know the #problem you are solving for and know your #clients, know them better than anyone else, execute and fail quickly and learn and improve eventually the industry will catch up and that risk may pay off . #genai #venturecapital #entrepreneurship #startup
