Spring in Southern California is buzzing with growth and transformation! ✨ It's a time when we're all encouraged to reach new heights in awareness, joy, and success. Staying COMMITTED to our personal growth is key, and the journey is as unique as each of us. I'm thrilled to share a snippet from my book, 'Radiant Achievement,' packed with practices to strengthen your commitment. Dive in and discover your path to expansion! Activating and strengthening your INNER Power of Commitment is EMPOWERING and life-giving.  Pursuing Radiant Achievement doesn’t mean forcing a Commitment; rather, your Commitment is empowered by an inner feeling of yes. Your full-body Commitment is your anchor as you take steps to achieve your goal. My clients and I have used several methods to strengthen our Power of Commitment. Try these: 1. Write down your goal and refer to it often (preferably daily). Feel the yes you felt when you first desired the goal. See yourself having already achieved the goal. Describe how it looks and feels when you achieve your calling. What are you doing? Where are you doing it? Who are you BEING as you live your calling? See deeply into this vision and bring it to life. The more vivid the detail, the stronger you will feel the achievement of your calling. 2. Create space in your life to pursue your goal. Look at your current “obligations.” What can you stop doing? What can you start doing to support the achievement of your goal? Be realistic about how much time you are willing to dedicate NOW to pursuing your goal. Remember, this is not a race. You know your dream will manifest in its time, and it means devoting some time toward the goal, even if it’s only one hour a week. Small progress over time strengthens your Commitment. New program launches at Central California Women’s Facility for incarcerated seniors Central California Women’s Facility launched their new program called Grandma’s Hands. This program is designed to support incarcerated people over 60. The event was held in the chapel and highlighted the needs of the seasoned population to engage in institution activities. “We have needed a program like this for years. It is amazing to be finally included,” said Tamara Lynette Robinson, an incarcerated person. The kickoff included the distribution of 167 hygiene kits donated by Fritzi Horstman with the Compassion Prison Project. Attendees appreciated the donated kits filled with essentials like toothpaste and shampoo. Velda Dobson-Davis, a retired annuitant, oversaw the delivery with the help of volunteers from Jesse Vasquez, Pollen Initiative, and Jenny Andrade, Bridges of Hope. “What a great opportunity to keep busy and stay connected together,” said Renee Robinson, incarcerated person. The event marks a significant step in supporting the well-being of the more mature incarcerated women. Visit Compassion Prison Project website for more information on the organization.

A recent op-ed in the The Fresno Bee by CHCF and Cultiva La Salud highlights the urgent need to address mental health workforce shortages in the San Joaquin Valley. Growing numbers of San Joaquin Valley residents say they are experiencing acute mental health challenges. Whether they are worried about where their next meal will come from, the arrival of an unexpectedly high utility bill or the disappearance of the last anti-eviction programs from the COVID era, stress is mounting. And in this region, it often doesn’t have anywhere to go. One important solution is to enhance the roles of community health workers and promotores de salud, who are trusted members of their communities. But the region can’t do it alone; there is much the state can do to build the work force needed to ensure more people can get the care they need. Read the article: https://lnkd.in/erdAg_ge

For all California Child Welfare Leaders, The Central California Training Academy will be offering an engaging Implementation Science Academy for County Leadership Teams, beginning on Jan. 9. This training series concentrates on the science and practice associated with effective implementation. It aims to introduce and facilitate implementation skills by directors, managers, analysts, staff development, and other leadership and/or implementation team members. Each topic includes two parts: Part 1 - training with brief experiential exercises to present and discuss concepts and tools, including breakout sessions for real-world application and problem-solving, and Part 2 – a skill-development session (coaching to help apply skills). Each content and coaching session emphasizes thinking about READI (race, equity, accessibility, diversity, inclusion) principles and how to infuse throughout implementation practices.
