Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR)’s Post

It's always a source of pride to reflect on the significant steps we have taken together with the EMBRC community to support and improve marine research across Europe. CCMAR was involved in one of EMBRC's key activities in 2023, actively contributing to the 4 additional research services offered in our extensive catalogue. These are: 1️⃣ Identification and quantification of microplastics in marine samples using Pyrolysis, Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (Py-LC-MS) 2️⃣ 3D Multimodal Atlas: developing a service to create comprehensive 3D multimodal imaging atlases of marine organisms. 3️⃣ MacroSea-MicroB: establishing protocols for biobanking seaweed-associated microbiomes. 4️⃣ SeaCLEAN: developing pollution monitoring and environmental chemistry services. #CCMARservices #EMBRC

#EMBRCAnnualReport | 🔊 A word from our Executive Director, Nicolas Pade: 🗣️ “We’re proud of our work to boost marine science and innovation over the past year and our 2023 Annual Report showcases the support we offer to the research community as well as our commitment to sustainability. Sustainability has become a bit of a buzzword but we’re doing our bit to make science a real enabler of sustainability. Achieving sustainability faces many challenges, including a poor understanding of biodiversity, particularly in the ocean, and a lack of biodiversity mapping, and limited baseline data. We’re helping to overcome these issues by facilitating the study of life in the sea, plugging knowledge gaps and boosting innovation for a Blue Economy.” To read the full report, visit👇https://lnkd.in/eBvJMEmF #SustainableFuture #Sustainability #GlobalGoals #OceanObservation #MarineResearch #AnnualReport Nicolas Pade EMBRC Italy EMBRC Spain EMBRC France EMBRC Greece EMBRC Belgium VLIZ - Flanders Marine Institute Marleen Roelofs Nathalie Turque Hellenic Centre for Marine Research EMBRC Italy Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR) CIIMAR Maria Huete-Ortega Gert Verreet Adelino Canario Alex McDougall Jan Vanaverbeke Kotoulas Georgios Ibon Cancio Matthias Obst Kim Præbel Fabrice Not
