Highly recommended for anyone interested in using AI as a force multiplier to build new business efficiencies. Not just in R&D, but in portfolio management, tech transfer/program acceleration, and business development. I strongly hope we are entering a new era in drug discovery because the previous era has proven to be neither efficient nor cost-effective. Something needs to change as soon as possible. With the major patent cliff approaching and more than $300 billion in sales at risk in the coming years, we must urgently improve pharmaceutical development. This improvement starts with utilizing large-scale, human-relevant data combined with the power of AI to organize and draw predictions from it. It focused on how we can better leverage AI to advance drug discovery in Australia. We aimed to address unmet medical needs to improve global health quality.      Key takeaways…    Prof Andrew Nash shared that drug R&D is a complex and expensive process and it delays finding the right affordable therapeutics for patients.
