Allu Arjun has been granted interim bail by Telangana High Court on December 13 in connection with Sandhya Theatre stampede case.
Allu Arjun has to submit a bail bond.
The actor was given 14 days judicial custody after his arrest in connection with the death of a woman in stampede at Hyderabad's Sandhya theatre.
The High Court issued an order granting bail to Allu Arjun as he was en route to jail. While approving interim bail, the court instructed the actor to fully cooperate with authorities in the ongoing investigation.
The Pushpa 2 actor had previously approached the Telangana High Court, seeking to have the criminal case against him quashed. The case, filed by Revathi’s family, led to charges against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
In a recent development, Revathi's husband, who initially lodged the complaint, has expressed his willingness to withdraw the case, raising questions about the future proceedings in this heartbreaking incident.
Revathi’s husband, Bhaskar said, "I am ready to withdraw the case. I was not aware of the arrest and #AlluArjun has nothing to do with the stampede in which my wife passed away."
The incident occurred on December 4, when a massive crowd gathered at the theatre to catch a glimpse of the actor during the release of his blockbuster film, resulting in chaos that claimed the life of 35-year-old Revathi and critically injured her eight-year-old son.
