Have a 2014 F250.Milage dropped 3.5 miles per gal. Took it to the Ford dealer. Daid it was missing at gold start and warm running. Dealer said all 16 plugs, 8 coils and wires had to be changed, $3,300 including tax. Carchex won't cover it. DON'T BUY!!!

Website is absolutely worthless every link you click on is dead or a 404 error, the bbb link, the customer service link, the contact is form errors out. Can’t update your credit card info online and we’re almost in 2025 I should not have to call customer no service to do anything. Fix your damn site it’s only about $50 bucks a month to maintain.

Carchex was fantastic

Carchex was fantastic! I was having difficulties with information between my mechanic and the warranty company purchased through Carchex. I ended up speaking with a manager, Kent at Carchex. He went above and beyond and ended up being the go between to verify everything was covered and taken care of the way it was supposed to be! I can’t thank him enough!! He really eased my mind and helped what was becoming a very stressful situation!💞🐅

2014 VW EOS cooling fans not operating correctly, dealership recommending replacing the fans, Carchex said they would pay for a rebuild kit for the fans. The dealership also stated the stabilizer bushings are bad, Carchex only paid 20.00 for the bushings and half the labor. total repair was over 3500.00 Carchex paid 1,347.00. The dealership was told they don't pay new part prices, they pay used parts prices. I was told this from 3 different repair shops. I purchased the platinum package 60/60,000 contract ending in 11607. Hopeful

Well, when calling to price shop, got the standard "can't hang up" presure. Told if I didn't buy now, I would loose my fam/friends discount, since have policy already. Didn't make me feel like family saying that. However, they called back and droped price. $10.00 more than competitor, but deductible was better if I ever needed a engine or something. So, here I am now with two cars covered...you do the math, can't be that bad of a place...right?

No big hype or pressure on my taking…

No big hype or pressure on my taking out insurance with CarChex....I felt the other companies were more pushy....I am a little concerned with their payment of claims however....there are a lot of 1 stars....I read through their contract which provides you with a repair log to complete as scheduled work is performed. They also "suggest" that you maintain all receipts for work performed on your vehicle. I definitely suggest that you DOT EVERY I AND CROSS EVERY T when it comes to scheduled work you have done AT THE TIME YOU HAVE IT DONE. They are an insurance company and not a "sugar daddy." Their goal is to protect their interest and not yours....Just make sure you cover yours.

Two Thumbs Down

I've been with Carchex since 2016, driving a 2014 Mercedes C250. Initially, they were fantastic, covering all my maintenance issues seamlessly. However, over the past two years, their service has deteriorated drastically. Now, every visit to the dealer leaves me paying more than half of the costs out of pocket. Spare yourself the frustration and disappointment. Do not purchase this warranty!!

Very easy to get started.

Easy process. Same underwriter as other companies. They were able to beat other quotes I received.
Here’s hoping I never need it.

If I could give ZERO stars I would

If I could give ZERO stars I would. These people are frauds!! They’ve taken $850 from me and have denied two claims that should have been covered. The adjuster gave 4 different lies on record that myself and the car shop PROVED FALSE, then without an explanation refused the claim. I was on a three way call with Car Chex and the serviceman that was working on my car. These people are just taking your money and will not help you. Do NOT waste your time or money. You’re going to be paying the full cost yourselves in the end, and out the money you’ve paid them thinking you were being smart and protecting your wallet. I have contacted an attorney, and there’s PLENTY of lawsuits against them already for the same thing.

Short but pleasant experience

Called to get a quote for comparison purposes. Everything was clearly explained, coverage, cost, satisfaction guarantee, etc. Ended up buying the plan suggested because they have a 30 day money back guarantee and can cancel for any reason. So I figured I had nothing to lose, though I had concerns that they would make it difficult or inconvenient. Once purchased, they immediately emailed me the contract so I could read the whole thing. They were to follow up with a printed version in the mail. But, when I found out that the car I was buying still had factory warranty on it, I called them the same day to cancel, and they did so without complaint and were, in fact, very pleasant and understanding about it. I was actually surprised at how easy it was. Since it was the same day, they could just do it over the phone. If it had been sometime later, the contract calls for you to fill out a form for a written cancellation. Though I cannot speak to how well they do regarding repairs, I would consider them again if the need arises.

I paid $189.95 for someone in Arlington, Texas to inspect a 2006 Audi A3. They omitted a 18" long crease on the hatchback, and obvious oil leak, a missing factory skid plate other damage on the left facing front corner, and a parasitic battery drain, a broken control arm on the front passenger side which also affected the driveshaft that needed replacement. I file a complaint with Carchex and they never responded. This happened in 2015. I just thought people should know what type of scam they are running.

Thank you for your review. We have verified you had an inspection completed with CARCHEX in 2015 on a 2006 Audi A3. Based on your review, we will address your concerns.

Our standalone inspection product is a VISUAL inspection only, for customers interested in buying a car that is not local to them. Most customers use our Inspection Product when they are considering buying a car that is out of state. This is not a Mechanical Inspection where a lift is used, code readers, etc. and cannot be used for state inspections.

The inspection is a report of what our inspector can see, feel, and hear walking around the vehicle and taking a test drive.

For the inspection in question, our inspector at the time noted all four wheels were scraped, noted multiple scratches on the rear bumper and hatch and advised you to to review the photos. The inspector documented the RF door lock /window switch was peeling, and the drivers seat vinyl is cracked. Based on the photos and inspector comments on the report, the cosmetic issues you describe were documented in your report.

Please be aware the inspection was done in a parking lot. Without the use of a lift and mechanical tools, our inspector would not be able to document issues with the missing factory skid plate and parasitic battery drain. Our website where the order was placed clearly states we do not use lifts or code readers.

With regards to the suspension control arms, our notes on the inspection state you advised our staff you hit a bump causing issues. At the time of inspection, the vehicle was test driven with no drivability concerns noted.

If you have any further questions about your inspection, please give us a call at (877)227-2439 Ext. 6003.

Researched several warranty companies

Researched several warranty companies. Some were vague on the coverage, others were just ridiculous on pricing and time frames. Actually had began a contract with one BUT Red Flags came up! when I called and questioned them about it, they got very defensive and argumentative. Did not like that, figure this would be a sample of dealing with them on a CLAIM! Cancelled that one!

Overall was pleased with purchasing, price terms and length of contract. Not all that crazy about the "Grace" period, but I'll make it work!

Not big hype or pressure

Not big hype or pressure. No lies or knocking competitors. Honest, frank and professional. Hung in while I did more research and was happy to join into their protection. Simple and easy and a bit more expensive than other companies, but more covered (like emissions components....unlike other places) and the friendliness of their staff is incredible. Money is not always an end all for selection. Thanks for sticking with me and making my life more relaxed and comfortable with the coverage.

Shame on carchex

My daughter purchased an extended warranty for a Subaru, she added gaskets and seals. She had her first oil change everything was fine nothing was noted, she went for a second oil change they discovered oil leaks. Car checks refused to cover anything, also would not allow us to re-submit claim. Shame on you car checks. Will never deal with this company again nor will I recommend this company to anyone.

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, there is not enough information for a member of our management team to locate your account and reach out to you to help.

As the retailer of the contract, CARCHEX does not handle the claims. If there are any claims related issues, our Customer Loyalty Department can look into the claim and get the details from the Contract Administrator to ensure the claim is being adjudicated properly.

If you could please have your daughter give us a call at (877)227-2439 Ext. 6001, we are more than happy to look into her claim.

great fast quote

I bought a 2012 Jeep Wrangler. up until 2020 the newest vehicle I've ever owned was a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee those vehicles of yester year are easy to work on and cheaper to pay for. but the cost of parts and repairs have gone up significantly with vehicles in the past 2 decades and even though I like to perform my own mechanical services on my vehicles I know my limits. I Went with a power train warranty from Carchex simple and quick process. I have not had to use it yet "knock on wood" but, its peace of mine and its a small percentage of what you could end up paying out of pocket on your own should something go wrong.

Stop and do not waste your money

The claims for Carchex are handled through American auto shield and their claim adjusters will do absolutely everything to not pay a claim or deny the full amount. You will pay way more than your deductible and their roadside assistance is the absolute worst
