The station was rebuilt in the same way that the adjacent station Kings Norton was reubuilt. Neither station was completely demolished to the ground and rebuilt. THere is more of the original Kings Norton left thatn the original Bournville. They both had absolutely brand new access and ticket offices in different locations from the originals. Kings Norton had new covers to the platforms, Bournville kept the existing but painted them in the orange and brown theme common to all the Cross City lines at the time or the refurbishment of them in 1978.
