Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister The Hon Patrick Gorman at our Morley store, where we showcased this year’s Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal alongside Major Peter Brookshaw from The Salvation Army Australia and hosted by our General Manager of Stores Chris Renshaw. It was a great opportunity to highlight our wonderful partnership with The Salvation Army where we strive to make Christmas a little brighter for those doing it tough by using our store network to collect gifts and funds for those in need at Christmas time. A big thank you to Patrick Gorman for your time and generous contribution to the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal this year.

What a legendary night we had at our annual Golden Kudos Awards last Thursday, all part of our ‘A Night With Legends’ theme! It was the perfect excuse to dress up, have fun, and celebrate the incredible individuals and teams from across the business who have lived our values with passion, energy, and dedication over the past 12 months. 🎉   From teamwork to innovation, each winner embodies the best of what we stand for – and it was a privilege to gather and honour these shining stars who continue to inspire us all.   Congratulations to all our legends, here’s to another year of raising the bar and shining brighter than ever! 🏆✨

We are thrilled to announce that Aleks Spaseska will step into the role of Deputy Managing Director of Kmart Group in January 2025 before stepping into the role of Managing Director from April 2025. On behalf of everyone at Kmart, we want to thank Ian Bailey for the incredible business he has built for us as he moves into another role within the Wesfarmers family as Chairman of Anko Global .

At Kmart, brightening lives is at the heart of what we do. Yesterday, we were proud to help create a magical moment at The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) – as part of our annual tradition, we provide a custom-built Christmas tree and gifts for children who are too unwell to go home for Christmas, bringing joy and festive cheer to the hospital. 🎅🏼✨ We’re truly honoured to support The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation Melbourne, the incredible staff and brave patients at RCH, continuing our partnership that has spanned 17 years. Today we recognise International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPWD) and promote greater awareness, understanding and acceptance of individuals with disability worldwide – with this year’s theme encouraging us to amplify the leadership of people with disability to drive positive change. At Kmart and Target Australia, we’re proud of the initiatives we’ve put in place so far to create an inclusive workplace where every team member feels valued and supported. Our commitment includes launching the Workplace Adjustments Policy and Inclusive Career Pathway Program, supporting our team and customers through the Quiet Space Program, and promoting disability confidence through learning resources and modules.   Together, we’re committed to building a more inclusive and accessible workplace for all. 💙

What a truly memorable morning at our support office for this year’s Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal! 🎄✨ We were privileged to be joined by our Adelaide store team member Eve Kibblewhite who had the idea 37 years ago that started the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal, Warren Elliott from The Salvation Army Australia and one of our amazing Wishing Tree Champions Corey Parker. The morning was topped off by a performance from band members from The Salvation Army and a carol performance from some of our Kmart Chirnside Park team members. Earlier this week, we kicked off our 31st Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal in Wellington, New Zealand with a special launch event alongside key leaders including our very own Joel Denney, Craig Baxter, Trish Briggs, The Salvation Army New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga & Samoa Chief Secretary Gerry Walker and Ward Councillor Mike Duncan. 🎉🎄✨🎁

Take a look at the highlights from our Parliament House Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal Launch in support of our charity partner The Salvation Army Australia. We were honoured to once again have the support of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and other Members of Parliament join us in placing the first gifts under the tree.

This week our teams rolled up their sleeves for #NationalRecyclingWeek, doing our bit for the planet and our commitment to reducing, reusing, repurposing or recycling waste to build a circular economy 🌍🌱 We tackled everything from old samples and empty boxes to Christmas decorations, old equipment, and hard waste across our Melbourne offices. In the spirit of giving, we also made donations to our Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal, with thoughtful contributions that can be gifted to bring joy to thousands of families this Christmas. 🎁✨
