Removal of photographs
Good afternoon Mr. RHaworth, At the end of May of this year you notified me User: CFHSPAO that you were going to remove the photos from all of the Surgeon General bios that I had uploaded - please see Canadian Surgeon General for the list of individual bios. I would like to know your reasoning behind removing the photographs. When I provided the information on them I listed them as the property of the Department of National Defence (DND) here in Canada and that authorization had been given to post them. I would really like to upload them again and have them stay put, so please tell me anything that I can possibly do in order to ensure that. Thank you so much for your time, I apologize for my lack of understanding of the Wikipedia procedures, I am still fairly new to the set-up and have not been able to fully grasp the ins and outs of certain things as of yet. — User: CFHSPAO 15:03, 23 September 2015
- (talk page stalker) Unfortunately, we cannot accept copyrighted files with permission to post them here alone. We can only accept files which are licensed under one of the broader open-source licenses which permit re-use including commercial use and modification. Can you get such permission fron the DND? --Orange Mike | Talk 19:58, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
- "Remove the photos from all of the Surgeon General bios" - what an hopeless exaggeration. I totally deny saying any such thing. Provide links to my message if you claim different. I have deleted just one image which you had uploaded twice. If the image of Claude Auger from the DND is available with a {{cc-by-sa-4.0}} or compatible licence, then upload it to the Commons. If it is not available under such a licence then uploading as fair use is inapplicable - Condition 1 of this policy would clearly be violated: the guy died in 2006 - there is a very good chance that a free use equivalent could be found - talk to his family. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:20, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
Deleted pages
Dear Mr. Rhaworth, You deleted two of my pages, namely User: A.S. Brown/Remilitarization of the Rhineland and User: A.S. Brown/Suez crisis under the grounds of copy-write violations. I did a few bit of work on those articles relating to those subjects, but since that time, other hands have changed the articles in directions that I find unwholesome. I just created those user pages to provide examples of how those pages should be out of the (probably vain) hope that other users might come around to my viewpoint. I took older, better copies of those pages and used them as the basis of the user pages to create example of how I think those pages should be, so if there are any copywrite violations, it would have been from the older copies of those articles. If there are copywrite vios, these are from the older pages I used, but regardless, if those pages are restored, I will more than happy to remove any copywrite vios. I would really like to have those pages restored so I can address your concerns. Thank you for your time, and please have a wonderful day! -- A.S. Brown (talk) 13:58, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
- Incidentally do your random scribblings on your user page serve any purpose? And be aware re one of the few times when you wrote anything coherent on the page, Amy may never see it but certainly one other person has seen it - me. As to your deleted pages, text emailed. Bear in mind that if you repost, JustBerry (talk · contribs) may just happen to see them again and take the same view. Also keeping a copy of a Wikipedia article in user space for too long can be considered a copyvio of the original article. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:50, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
Dear Mr. Rhawoth Thank you for the e-mails. I will discuss this matter with JustBerry to see where he stands, and proceed from there. I was not aware of the time stipulation-certainly other users have kept copies of article in userspace for years-but I will bear it in mind. With all due respect, I don't believe I have to explain what I write on my userpage to anyone, but I suppose I should be flattened to find that there is somebody out there who has enough free time to concern themselves with that matter. But if you really must concern with matters that do not concern you, it was to bury things so that people like you would not read them-evidently not deep enough. But it does not matter anyway, it will all end under the northern lights. Thank you for your time. -- A.S. Brown (talk) 22:12, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
Deletion of AWeber page
Greetings Mr. Rhaworth, I see that you deleted the page for AWeber. I represent the company and would like to have the page restored as it provides historical information about our company. There are other email marketing companies whose pages exist still. If it's a matter of updating the page to remove non-factual/historical information, I'm happy to oblige. I would greatly appreciate your help in the matter. Thank you. Narolsonsd (talk · contribs) 14:45, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
I see that you removed an edit I made to another page regarding the deletion of the AWeber page. Can you please restore the page? It provides historical information about our company, similar to other email marketing companies (e.g., MailChimp, Constant Contact, GetResponse, etc.). I am happy to remove any content that is not appropriate. I would appreciate your help with this. Thanks. Narolsonsd (talk · contribs) 11:50, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
- I reverted your edit to user_talk:rjd0060 because it had totally vandalised the page. There is no point in putting your message back properly because you received your reply at requests for undeletion. As to the AWeber page, kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks your company is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:03, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
Deletion of my page
Hello Rhaworth, I see you have deleted some of my page. I would appreciate if I could get the chance to copypaste it, before you just delete without saying it to me. It is really important text that has taken MANY months for me to create. So please, if you could give me a chance to copypaste the text to my computer, it would save my life. Deletion of my sandbox
Please restore my sandbox User:TrueHeartSusie3/Sandbox2 which you just deleted; JustBerry tagged it for deletion without realising that the page he claims I/Foster's current WP article plagiarize is a mirror site (http://www.fanpal.com/celeb/jodie+foster/ click 'read more' and scroll down and you will see Source: Wikipedia). I left a message about this on the sandbox's talk page, and it also showed up on the tag that I had contested the deletion; why on earth was this overlooked and my sandbox deleted?! — TrueHeartSusie3 (talk) 09:06, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
- TrueHeartSusie3, restored. You have been working on this for seven months and as far as I can see very few of your changes have been transferred to the live article. That smacks of using Wikipedia as a free host. What is your objection to working directly on the live article? At one level it does not matter how many edits you use to achieve a given result but I do recommend you to use "show preview" and "show changes" more and "save page" less. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:02, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for restoring it! I've not been able to find time to fully concentrate on overhauling the article, and prefer to re-write entire sections in my sandbox before editing the live article. It's usually easier this way, as often a lot of content has to be deleted or completely changed, and I usually don't have time to edit a section in one go. I will try to use "show preview" more in the future though, thank you for the tip! TrueHeartSusie3 (talk) 10:37, 26 September 2015 (UTC)TrueHeartSusie3
- @TrueHeartSusie3: You may want to start a discussion on the article's talk page before making an overhaul like that to the mainspace. --JustBerry (talk) 11:37, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
Deletion of WinToFlash page
Hi! I'm making first steps on the Wikipedia and decided to translate page about WinToFlash from russian wiki to English, because, I believe, it must exists in English version too. This app is good too and has a millions of users worldwide and there is an article about other apps like this - UNetbootin, Fedore Live USB (all for Linux, not for Windows). I created big article with list of all options about this app (this app, so I need this), roadmap, facts, wine start, etc. What did I do wrong? Why did you decide it's ad page - there is no links to buy, download, or others; this is only a description.
Please help me to understand and make the article better, because I'm lost now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JahrA90 (talk • contribs) 10:24, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
- I suspect you may have a COI. I did not feel that notability was established. So the best I can offer is deletion review. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:11, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
I see this sounds oddly for me but maybe I'm missing something. Can we do this way: I improve my article in the sandbox (I have a copy on my PC) and ask you again to review again as a superior and experienced member or wiki? — Preceding unsigned comment added by JahrA90 (talk • contribs) 15:53, 26 September 2015 (UTC)

Speedy on D4nny.
Could you explain your rationale for the deletion of D4nny under A7? As far as I see, the article very much made a claim of notability, claiming as such because of his single "Goodbye", and also references the press coverage he had received. I was wondering as to specifically why you deleted my userpage? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shirugaki (talk • contribs) 18:36, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
- The content of your page might have been acceptable for an active Wikipedia editor but for someone who has done just eight useful edits and none in the last five months, it becomes a very distinct case of simply messing about, or to fit it to a standard criterion, using Wikipedia as a free host. Come back when you have done at least 80 useful edits and I might consider restoring. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:16, 30 September 2015 (UTC)

G6 file redirect deletions
It has seemingly been pointed out by some other contributors, that the deletion of file redirects isn't in fact "uncontroversial housekeeping". It would be appreciated if you could restore the redirects concerned (assuming other criteria) don't apply, until there is a fuller discussion about this matter. Request at WP:REFUND. — Sfan00 IMG (talk) 17:37, 1 October 2015 (UTC)
- These redirects were doing no harm. But now they have been deleted, there is absolutely no point in restoring them because they serve no useful purpose. The specific example you quote was a classic case of an implausible redirect resulting from a typo ("illusrated") and fully qualified for speedy deletion. It had been viewed just twice during 2015 Aug. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:24, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Fair enough. But the technical concern is expressed in the WP:AN thread where you've already commented. — Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:31, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

Quite simply, we do not allow the non-commercial clause. Images must have a {{cc-by-sa-4.0}} or compatible licence and be uploaded to the Commons. - Battleofalma, did you consider it biting? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:38, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
- "Biting"? Not too badly, but admittedly not very helpful either and scolding is hardly necessary. I admit that I made a mistake and should've put it in namespace (it's aggregating some work for an editathon and a brand new editor) and would've moved it given a bit longer.
- I understand it must be a bit tiresome but a little more leeway would've been appreciated. While I can't be scared off from editing because I devote too much of my time to Wikimedia to just give up, plenty of others could be quite easily. We all want to maintain and grow editorship, we'll do that with friendliness, beyond just bare minimum civility. Thanks, Battleofalma (talk) 11:39, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

Pomeroy
Undeletion of File:Professor Jason Pomeroy, Founding Principal of Pomeroy Studio.jpg. Hey there, Haworth! It seems the copyright holder of this image has thought about it, and would now like to release it under a suitable license after all (see VRTS ticket # 2015080810010495: CC-BY-SA 4.0. Can you undelete for me please? Ping me with any questions or concerns. Thank you! KDS4444Talk 23:41, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
- Why do you need a ping? If you leave a message, you should be prepared to watch for a reply for say 48 hours. Instruct Ojellerton (talk · contribs) to upload it to the Commons and link to the OTRS ticket there. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:14, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
I ask for a ping in case I do not remember to check every message I leave— I only just now noticed the above message from you because you did not ping me. I didn't consider the request to be a burden, I considered it a polite way for me to make sure I don't lose track of the sometimes-large number of tickets I try to handle— and I assume that if I don't get a ping, that everything is fine and that you had no questions or concerns. Here, you instruct me to instruct Ojellerton to perform a second upload of an image and to link it to the corresponding ticket. He got notified of this because you mentioned his username in your message. I did not. I am still not sure why you didn't undelete the original file (?). Having the user re-upload the file, presumably under a different file name, might have seemed like someone circumventing your role as the authority who decided it should be deleted, and I would not have done that (though I guess I will from now on...?). I always contact the deleting admin and request undeletion so that the admin has the chance to review the OTRS ticket and verify that my request is well-founded— and to disagree with that request and explain why, if he/ she prefers. Now, I am at a loss... And was unpinged, even though I specifically asked for it, so I never knew what happened (eventually I got another message on this matter through OTRS, which brought me back here). If I am doing any part of this wrong, could you explain? Thank you (no ping asked for and so none expected). KDS4444Talk 20:29, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
- KDS4444, OK pings are cheap so you can have one. Try not to be so long winded. I thought my message made it clear: I have no objection to the file being put back but for me to restore it and then transfer it to Commons seems a waste of effort. Why could not it be uploaded direct to Commons? "Presumably under a different file name" - why do you presume that? What would be wrong with their using the same name? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:25, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
Privateering speedy
Dear colleague, I was relieved to see the responsible tone of your recent talk, bcz i came here expecting to urge you to reconsider executing speedies, in light of the presumable miscarriage of process re Privateering. My attention had been solicited bcz it turns out i created it as an Rdr to Privateer) back in the Dark Ages (during which we seem to have signed up around the same time). That notice was to the point, bcz a bit over 1000 articles were reasonably relying on an appropriate article or Rdr. Presumably they did so bcz their editors agreed with me that it should be either an article or Rdr appropriate for the common-noun sense (or at worst a Dab including it) -- tho presumably virtually none of them bothered to confirm that it was.
I don't recall what the guidance is for those who execute the speedies, but i'd have hoped that viewing the edit history was near the top of the to do list. On the other hand, i don't recall the last time i executed one, and perhaps all i really need to hear is "That kind of attention to detail would be great, if there were more admins sharing the load." Thanks for your attention. -- Jerzy•t 00:49, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
- What an hopelessly long winded way of telling me that I goofed over a deletion. You fixed it. Thank you. "That kind of attention …" is exactly my feelings. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:14, 17 October 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, query etc..........
Hello, I would like to deliver my thanks to you for proceeding to delete Template:Running Man 2016 which I CSDed with Twinkle. Because it's my first time tagging pages for deletion, I have 2 questions.
- Did I CSD it correctly?
- Is it that when articles are tagged with CSD, PROD etc, they will be listed in a category or some sort of groupings which will be visible to deleting admins?
And, while at it, why not take a look at List of Running Man missions in 2016 which I PRODed too? Thanks! −Edward (t⋇c) 09:45, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
- The speedy tag was perfectly correct. Tagged articles are listed in CAT:CSD and CAT:ALLPROD and these lists are visible to everybody. Regarding the prod: the article listed the 2015 missions but there was this full set of 2016 missions lurking in the guy's sandbox (now merged in). Is this 2016 list genuine - implying that they have already recorded more than twenty episodes or is it fantasy? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:49, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the feedback, it gives me more confidence for my future possible taggings. For the PROD, I was a bit confused with the revision history, perhaps it was due to the merge..... But I can confirm that the full set of 2016 missions you linked are definitely fantasies. All known recorded episodes can be seen here supported with references of non-English language. I also saw that you had deleted the 2015 data after the merge, but I still think it's too early to be created, as there're 2 more months to go for 2015 and it won't have any new data until next year if the production does continue. Regards. −Edward (t⋇c) 08:51, 18 October 2015 (UTC)
Utkarsh Patel
Hi. I see you've put a protection log on the page for Utkarsh Patel. I've been creating stubs for Indian cricketers, and there's an individual with the same name. I've created the draft in my sandbox. Please can you move this into the article space? Thanks. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 16:52, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
- If you really think a stub that short is ready for publication, see what the AfC reviewers think. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:49, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
Well thanks for your help. Hats off to you. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 10:09, 18 October 2015 (UTC)
For info Haworth, I've now created it with the disambig in the title. Thankfully our rules on notability trump the pithy unhelpful comments of someone's whim. — Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 11:21, 19 October 2015 (UTC)
Now you're being disruptive. If you can point me to the policy for a minimum length of an article, I'd be happy to move it back to draft. Oh wait, there isn't one, is there? — Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 11:23, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- True, there are no rules about article length. However there are plenty of rules about notability, such as "multiple independent sources". I feel you have done a minimum of effort in creating the article and made negligible attempt to show notability. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:25, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
Take it to AfD then. Along with all of these articles too. — Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 18:05, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- I don't see why the article should be moved to draft or deleted. It's a valid stub with a credible claim of significance and if Its notability is in doubt, WP:AfD might be appropriate but I don't see the article as a candidate for WP:AfD. Wikic¤l¤gyt@lk to M£ 18:41, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

How do I make a "credible claim of significance" for an article (see the heading for link)? Sounds like a pretty arbitrary / subjective process depending on who gets to in the end make that judgement. Would for instance an external news article (in this case about the website&tv show hybe.com) be enough to make such claim? Cheers. -- Incredibleindividual (talk) 11:08, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
- Incredibleindividual, true there is always a certain measure of arbitrariness about Wikipedia inclusion decisions but there are certain minimum standards that must be reached and your article fell far short of these standards. You're an admin here. I'm not. Sure I could have done the edit in question, I just didn't want to get into an edit war and/or edit someone else's userpage. Yes, I could have reported it then had my edit been reverted, but it doesn't really matter much now. Jared Preston (talk) 17:08, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

I note that the Beme page is salted. There were a number of ships named SS Beme, which is a valid target for Beme. I understand the reasons behind the salting of Beme. Re: "Stop It!"
- Transferred to user talk:SidelinedAV8R
I just saw your speedy deletion of this article. Can I ask you to reconsider? I'm not sure that you looked properly at the article history. It may have been better to revert the article to a previous version. It has been around for many years as a substantial article. This edit in particular may be a good point to revert to as it appears to have cleaned up uncited material. Since that point much OR was added, it was then stubbed as being OR, and that is the point at which you deleted it. On a technical point, it does not make A3, since even as a stub it tells me two facts that aren't in the title, A7 does not apply since it a caste is not an organisaiton. As for A11 that is dubious at best; besides the sources that were in previous versions I can find a multiple page entry in The Tribes and Castes of Bombay, Volume 1 and there also appears to be a substantial article in Journal of the Anthropological Society of Bombay although I've only got snippet view for that. Just on a very cursory search, there appears to be much more. — SpinningSpark 13:44, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

Craig Chaquico
Hello, I am seeing that you have contested several of my changes to a Wikipedia page for musician, Craig Chaquico. I am his artist manager, and he has asked me to go in and update his page. I have done the best that I can so far, but am continuing to learn more about the proper ways to add information. Believe me, though, all of the information I have edited is factual and accurate. One notice that you have requested to be deleted is about Craig's signature guitar, which is a Kiesel Carving Signature CC275. That is the guitar that was built especially for him, and that he has been using, and they have been providing to interested buyers for almost 20 years. I switched out a reference to "Gibson" which is not what he has played for over 20 years; this was incorrect. I replaced it with his signature guitar. I did try to link this to a website page for verification. This is not to advertise, but to verify that what I put up there was accurate. Please help me to improve this if there is a way you feel it could be done more correctly. But please do not tag it to come down as what was up there before was simply wrong. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by PilotRock61 (talk • contribs) 15:53, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
- Please read WP:COI and WP:PAID and make sure you comply with the rules there. "Contested several of my changes" - what on earth are you talking about? Sure, I deleted this pointless stub but I have never touched the Craig Chaquico article itself. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:16, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
Francisco Santos
A page I put up as a AFD but then withdrawed-needs to be closed sometime. Francisco Santos (footballer) - I put an AFD up then I looked over the history and realized that in fact it was vandalized. (Which I usually look over first but didn't this time), so yeah it needs to be closed and the original needs to go back up for it! — Wgolf (talk) 22:30, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Done I closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Francisco Santos (footballer) as "withdrawn" and started a discussion on Talk:Francisco Santos (footballer) on what to do with the "hijacked version" edits. Iping'd both participants of the AFD (one of them had recommended splitting the page's history to handle the hijacked version). I also re-created the redirect that was left over from an earlier page move, Francisco Santos (Portuguese footballer), which RHaworth deleted on August 4, 2015.
