Please undelete Draft: Dry Eye
Hi Mr. Haworth, I request the undeletion of the page Draft: Dry Eye. The copyright infringement to which you referred no longer exists. Thanks, Knujon Knujon (talk) 20:51, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
- Don't be ridiculous. Massive copyvio. In any case your piece was simply not an encyclopedia article. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:05, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
Hi Mr. Haworth, Can you please recommend how the page could be changed to qualify as an encyclopedia article? As for the copyvio, the link to which you originally referred as the violation was hosted at my request while I converted the content to Wikipedia formatting. The owners of that site can verify this fact if you'd like. Thanks, Knujon (talk) 21:00, 20 July 2018 (UTC)
- Why point to draft talk:Dry Eye when you mean the draft page itself? Multiple articles on the same topic are not allowed so go to talk:dry eye syndrome and ask how your not-a-copyvio article could be changed to qualify as a replacement for the existing article. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:42, 20 July 2018 (UTC)
Xometry Page Deletion
Hello, The deletion log shows that you did the deletion of the Xometry on 10 Feb. 2018. I am not sure of the original circumstances of the deletion, but the company has grown and is now the largest custom manufacturing platform in the US. It recently acquired its major competitor and raised an additional $25 MM for growth.
You can read about this in the Wall St. Journal, Lexington Herald Leader, American Inno and many other publications. What would be the right next step to permit the creation of the page? — Aaron, preceding unsigned comment added by 151.181.228.194 (talk) 22:07, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
- Next step for you is to do nothing. Wait until someone who has no CoI thinks your company is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:17, 15 July 2018 (UTC)
Thanks RHaworth. It says in the log that the page is locked and page creation requires administrator access (see here: Xometry). So if someone without CoI wants to create a page, how would they do it if admin status is required to access? I appreciate your help! -Aaron — Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.100.63.74 (talk) 12:27, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
- By submitting as a draft via AfC. If the draft were to be accepted, then unprotection of the mainspace title would be uncontroversial. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:19, 19 July 2018 (UTC)

Blocked My Page
Hello, I was working on a page for my company however my page was removed because my username was my company's name "My Financial." Since then, I have created a new account "cwalkertexas." I still wish to create a page for my company/employer, but when I created the page, I saw the note saying that I should contact you first. The page was titled My Financial and I am not sure how to provide you the link as it was deleted and I am new to writing Wikipedia articles. Hi, could you restore Talk:Pray for Rosemary's Baby, please? Hello. In 2016 you G11ed TAC Security Solutions, which has also been G11ed and A7ed by other admins. It's also been G11ed and A7ed as TAC Security. It's back as Tac security, but of course I can't check if it's a recreation of the text of the deleted pages. I suspect it's a G11 anyway, but if the same text was G11ed that'll save time.
Also, exactly the same article text appears at Draft:TAC Security, curiously created by a different user, but I'm sure nothing dodgy's going on there. :-/ Pinkbeast (talk) 13:17, 21 July 2018 (UTC)

West phailure
- Hello R. Haworth, I believe that you may have deleted a photograph of my father E.O.J. Westphal from his wikipedia page, and I am not clear why it was suitable for speedy deletion. I own the only original paper photographic copy of the image, and I am not sure what to do to make it available. Regards, Jonathan Westphal — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thewikibeagles (talk • contribs) 13:36, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
Jonathan, I have sent an email to a gmail address for you that I found on the web. Do not take any action here until you have read that email. If you have not received it, read this.
I appreciate that it is difficult to persuade a philosopher to descend to the fine detail required for Wikipedia contributions but you need to try. Your message above lacked a heading, link/s to what you were talking about and a signature. Your upload of PoF.tiff had a very poor name, was uncropped, upside down (at least that is how it looks in the image description but curiously it is right way up when you use it) and, worst of all, a massive 24M bytes in size. Note that my replacement is one hundredth the file size!
PDF format is a wrapper for multiple formats. It should never be used for wiki uploads. I note that Jonathan Westphal.pdf is a PDF and I am amazed to find that it can be used in articles. I deleted Prof. E.O.J. Westphal with Students.pdf simply because it was a PDF. Someone else deleted Prof. E.O.J. Westphal with Students.jpg because "evidence will be provided on request" is not good enough.
Do feel free to try again. Upload the image as a JPG to the Commons and give it a decent image description instead of your slovenly one. I suggest the following:
{{en|1={{w|Ernst Oswald Johannes Westphal}} (centre) with some students of the School of African studies at the {{w|University of Cape Town}} seen here on the campus. Westphal was Professor of African Languages at the school from 1962 until his retirement in 1984.}}
{{af|1=''the above repeated in Afrikaans''}}
Add an exact date if possible. This text is intended to go in the |description=
field of the {{information}} box. The text should be copied from the rendered version of this message, ie. as it appears on your browser's screen, into an edit box on the Commons. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:09, 25 July 2018 (UTC)

How do you delete G13 pages so fast? Are you just really quick or do you have some sort of a script that you use for it (not meaning to refer to Twinkle)? --TheSandDoctor Talk 15:32, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
- So why not refer to Twinkle? When I am in CAT:CSD near the top of the page I see a row of links starting with "category talk edit this page history". The last of these links is "d-batch". It is that what does it and blisteringly fast! — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:09, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
I just realize most (including myself) use Twinkle and was wondering if you were doing something else, that is why I said that. As for d-batch, I have never tried that before. I shall have to look into it, thanks for the suggestion! --TheSandDoctor Talk 16:23, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
Contesting Deletion of Wikipedia Article
Hello RHaworth: It has come to my attention that fellow Wikipedian Kristina Millona's article Kristian_Ranđelović has been deleted for "unambiguous copyright infringement". We would like this article reverted back to active and existing so that we can continue to work on it. The article has only been up a very short time and was not finished. If it is possible to at least send me the text and references so that I can help Kristina with the writing, that would be great. She does significant work creating articles on notable LGBTQ+ activists and issues in the Balkans and the Wikimedia LGBT+ community supports her work. Thank you. You Are Responsible For INAPPROPRIATE DELETION OF A USER SANDBOX PAGE. Revert your actions. CONCERNED WIKIPEDIA PAGE: User:AnotherHomoSapein/sandbox
RHaworth,
You have DELETED A SANDBOX PAGE (OF [Wikipedia]User:AnotherHomoSapein) SAYING THAT THE PAGE REFLECTED "UNAMBIGUOUS ADVERTISING OR PROMOTION". SANDBOX PAGES ARE JUST FOR THE PRACTICE OF THE WIKIPEDIA EDITORS AND ARE NOT WIKIPEDIA ARTICLES. The creator of the sandbox page left a message on the talk page of the page you deleted before your actions: "Not to be taken otherwise, the sandbox page is purely for practicing editing in Wikipedia and does not intend to become a proper Wikipedia article anytime soon.".
According to the Wikipedia consensus, such actions DISCOURAGE NEW WIKIPEDIA EDITORS.
Revert your actions immediately. —

- While it is unfortunate that it may discourage new editors, using Wikipedia for advertising purposes is not permitted anywhere - even in sandboxes. The same goes for using Wikipedia as a webhost. Draft:Columbery
Dear User:RHaworth, Today(27.07.2018) my article Draft:Columbery was deleted by you. You said that this page promotes the service I have written about. But in my oppinion this page is not unambiguously promotional, because there is no subjective sentences or ideas. All of facts of this article are proved by references. I am sure that it is written independent like an encyclopedia article. This article does not break Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, especially section G11. This page is built like other articles of travel technology services that are available on Wikipedia. Threre is no reasons to ban or delete it. I would be very pleased if you have reloaded my article. Kindest Regards, Dmytro Buhaiov — Preceding unsigned comment added by Дмитрий Бугаев (talk • contribs) 14:16, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @Дмитрий Бугаев: It used subjective terms like "first ever" and "world's leading supplier". However, it isn't the individual sentences that are the problem. The entire draft is devoted to touting the benefits of the services the company offers. Even using neutral language, it is still an advertisement. And you need to disclose your association with the company. If the company is compensating you, you must disclose that (see WP:PAID for details). ~ Anachronist (talk) 16:09, 27 July 2018 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion and Politics
Hello! Doing good?
I joined Wikipedia over ten years ago. Upon joining, I simply introduced myself on my user page. I'm a professional artist, this is what I do, so I'd explain that, and that's it! I may have included a few links to my portals, but I'd never actually visit nor update that user page. I had completely forgotten about it to be honest, so I hardly call anything I wrote "promotion"... I was just introducing myself to the community, that's all!
Now, would I relaunch that user page, would I be allowed to say anything about myself and what I do or would that be considered "self-promotion" and "using Wikipedia as a web host"? Also, I have been editing and contributing to Wikipedia for over 10 years—very occasionally, not so regularly, but I'm part of the community and not just some troll.
Yesterday, I visited the InfoWars Wikipedia article Talk Page and noticed a vote regarding the political position of InfoWars. I put in my vote and explained my reasoning. I was very polite, and I did not attack nor smear anybody. I was looking forward to polite, civilized responses, but I ended up getting a very rude, rude, rude response from a certain user, and for what? Their response was arrogant, impertinent and just insulting. You see!
Sure, they criticized me on my user page I actually never updated nor visited in years! I guess taking it down felt like a "victory" to them, and it's funny how nobody ever had an issue with it before. I don't actually care since I'd never use it anyway. Say they are right and my page did not focus on Wikipedia enough, the rest of their response was totally impertinent, inflammatory, and I am right!
I rarely ever get involved in political Wiki articles, and almost everytime I do, there must be a conflict. Once again, I was very polite, but obviously, I had the wrong political opinion! Is that what Wikipedia has become? Food for thought... Israell (talk) 00:26, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
Okay... I've read the rules and republished my page—without any link to my portals—. For example: a five page résumé and advertising for your band will probably be too much, a brief three sentence summary that you work in field X and have a band named Y will be fine. Wikipedia:User pages#What may I have in my user pages? — Israell (talk) 01:01, 28 July 2018 (UTC)

Bhagshesh conundrum
Me again... I was wondering if you could help or share some thoughts. There appears a real mess about a movie called "Bhagshesh". First, there seems a back and forth about the spelling and if a sub-title is present or not. This led to multiple incarnations in draft and main space with all sort of redirects: Draft:Bhagshesh (film), Draft:Bhagshesh: The Remainder, Bhagshesh: The Reminder (my bad introducing the typo), Draft:Bhagshesh (a redirect in draft) and finally Bhagshesh another redirect, this time to the movie maker. The AfC drafts are all waiting for approval and have previously been rejected, so I think someone is trying to jump the gun as this is a recently released movie... pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 08:26, 28 July 2018 (UTC)

- Colonestarrice, "I did not ask for my talk page to be deleted". But you did! You applied a speedy tag to User:Colonestarrice/infobox and failed to bracket it with
<noinclude></noinclude>
. This meant that your user talk page also appeared in CAT:CSD and got deleted. Of course it is technically possible to delete user talk pages but the rule book is very firm that they should not be deleted. So I have restored yours. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:06, 28 July 2018 (UTC)

Can you help me regarding the query of this wikipedia page. Dhulipala Mahadeva Mani
Hi Mr. Haworth, I decided to create a wiki page about Dr. Dhulipala Mahadeva Mani, an unofficial teacher of mine, so I created a couple of questions, and I conducted a personal interview with him. After a few days of hard work, I finally published my first Wikipedia article. A day later it was moved to a draft space because I did not put any sources on the page. After seeing this, I added the recording of the interview as a reference, and resubmitted the "Draft". A day after I added the reference, you deleted this page under G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion. Link that was valid before speedy deletion.
I have a few questions regarding the speedy deletion:
- Could you please explain which part/parts of the article that deem it capable of speedy deletion?
- Was G11 the only reason that this page was deleted?
- while waiting for your response I will fix what I think is wrong with the article, and also fix what you think is wrong and after that could you please Review my article one last time before I resubmit it?
Thank you so much, Fhurfu21 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 19:38, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
- You say that the interview is your work so the article is devoid of independent evidence of notability and as such, it stands no chance of being accepted. But I have restored it. Do not put back any of the honorifics. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:43, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
Mr. Haworth, I appreciate the fact that even though you are an administrator on Wikipedia You still take the time, to look over my small project, I can't thank you enough. Thank you so much, I will try to fix everything that is wrong with the article ASAP, but as a small favor; could you tell me what exactly is wrong with the article? By the honorifics do you mean the Awards and Honors,? and if so they are common among Hindu discourse speakers, so I believe that They should stay there. Thank you so much --Fhurfu21 (talk) 20:49, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
Hi Mr. Hayworth, Just added some more acceptable/Viable references, can you please check the draft over to see if anything else is wrong? Also, can you please clarify what you mean by "Honorifics". Thank you, --Fhurfu21 (talk) 20:49, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
- For goodness sake! learn wikilinks and how to spell my name. Replied at draft talk:Dhulipala Mahadeva Mani. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:30, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
Ahad Raza Mir page being blocked
Dear RHaworth, the page for Ahad Raza Mir has been repeatedly deleted for legitimate reasons, but I think that looking at draft:Ahad Raza Mir article a case could make to move it to the main-space, under his name, which is being blocked due to the lack of authorizations. Cheers, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arslan-San (talk • contribs)
- When you think your draft is ready, click on "submit your draft for review". If it gets accepted then unprotection of the mainspace title will be uncontroversial. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:43, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
Why did you revert my CSD nomination? The category was created by a confirmed sockpuppet[1] of prolific sockpuppeter (Over 100 sockpuppets to date) Ryan kirkpatrick. WP:G5 aka WP:DENY clearly applies as no other edits were made to that category but by the sockpuppet....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 13:56, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- I disagree with {{db-banned}}: if a page is valid, what does it matter who created it? In this case the page needs to exist: what is the point of deleting it so that someone else can re-create it? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:59, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
Deletion
Hello, I noticed you deleted my article StreamingVideoProvider, just after less than 2 hours of publishing it and 1 hour of being tagged with "speedy deletion". And the editor who tagged it himself said (on my talk page) the article has more work to be done but not be deleted. I believe the article is notable for many reasons:
- The website had +1000 Organizations Worldwide to host over 120,000 corporate videos and stream over 30,000,000 Minutes of video a Year.
- Has important customers like Ericom Software.
- Launched in 2006. (which makes it one of the oldest of the nowadays living video networks).
- The founder of the company himself has a whole article in The Telegraph talking about his business in 2005 (before launching StreamingVideoProvider).
- The company has +50 employees.
- Headquartered in London and has locations in other 2 European countries and one location in the US.
- I think this reason is enough to consider the platform notable: Got permission to broadcast in China, which is a very important achievement, as most of the similar platforms are banned.
- Has certified cased studies and projects for church and TV-stations in different locations, also Universities like the University of Essex and Dulwich college.
- The article itself is informative and I believe there is no promotional tone at all, and I tried to be short. And there are links from Reuters and other reliable sources.
Thank you. عليّ سعيد (talk) 14:18, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) None of those things you listed defines notability in Wikipedia terms. See WP:Golden rule and WP:CORP to learn what is needed for a company to merit an article here. ~ Anachronist (talk) 14:20, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
Hello Anachronist, These are just some of the reasons. The article itself holds what is required. I read all related things to notability guidelines and I still believe the platform is notable as it is one of the biggest 10 companies in video hosting in the world, and as there are already Wikipedia articles for similar platforms (some are smaller!) like DaCast.
- Significant coverage: Reuters (A whole article talking about the latest edition of the website)
- Reliable sources: yahoo.new
- Independent sources: TechCrunch
عليّ سعيد (talk) 14:32, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) Also, the user who tagged it did not say "has more work to be done but not be deleted", they said, "If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion". But this required you to make a sufficiently cogent case on the talk page to defer the deletion, which unfortunately did not happen. —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap sh*t room 14:36, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
I read the message wrongly. But when he wrote that, I went to the link to "contest the deletion" but the article was removed, and this was only after minutes of the tag. So, there is no way but the talk page. And the deletion was surprising to me. "Administrators should take care not to speedy delete pages or media except in the most obvious cases." Speedy Deletion. — عليّ سعيد (talk) 14:55, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
- Far too much waffle. Restored to draft:StreamingVideoProvider. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:59, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
I believe this waffle contains much reason. I edited the draft, do you still see advertising? or is the article itself is not notable (as you didn't say anything)? — عليّ سعيد (talk) 23:01, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
- The article is no more or less notable than any other page on Wikipedia. What you should be talking about is the notability of the subject of the article and in that case, I suspect it does not meet our requirements. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:30, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
I checked the rules and guidelines again in Notability (organizations and companies). Where is the "notability of the subject of the article"? considering that we are talking about a live streaming software company. We can't expect the company to make incredible things to refer to the subject as notable. The thing is to have history and achievements. This works on similar software or apps articles, which get approved in the encyclopedia, and if you want quite close articles of live streaming platforms, check DaCast , Wistia. — عليّ سعيد (talk) 14:07, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- Why are you continuing to talk to me? I have restored the article. What more do you want of me? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:07, 2 August 2018 (UTC)

Help me delete my usertalk page
I've been trying and failing to properly format my request for deletion for the past few hours now. Please just have mercy on me and nuke my usertalk page from orbit. I've asked you, the admins, the formatting (I don't know what I could be mistyping but I've been trying and failing to find the solution for hours now). Nuke it and this request, please. Rename me to a random string of characters for all it matters, I'd prefer you delete me but rename me if necessary. — Mattbash (talk) 10:45, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

I apologise to keep on nagging you, and also apologise for not mentioning it in my orginal request: would you please request restore the talk page as well? Sorry again. —usernamekiran (talk) 03:25, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- Do not be so mean with links: some people provide three links in their signatures and you definitely should have linked to the page about which you are talking. Talk page restored - it is one of my failings that I usually forget to check for a talk page when I restore. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:30, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, I should have linked to the talkpage in my second comment. Sorry about that. Thanks again. See you around. —usernamekiran (talk) 14:17, 2 August 2018 (UTC)

You seem to have closed Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2018 July 30#Draft:Sugondese, which was open for less than 48 hours and in which no one other than the nominator had !voted, and deleted the redirect. You haven't, to my knowledge, identified any CSD or procedural close criterion justifying the deletion. What's going on here? Best, – Arms & Hearts (talk) 20:37, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
- Redirects from draftspace do not need to be and indeed should not usually be deleted. However if I see one with a deletion proposal, I zap it as being the simplest thing to do. Please explain to me very carefully what purpose, in your opinion, draft:Sugondese served. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:30, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
I don't believe it served any purpose and would have !voted to delete if given the chance. The policy that holds that decisions are made on the basis of consensus and not of administrators' whims, however, has a purpose that I'm sure I don't need to explain to you. I've begun a discussion at DRV (see below). Best, – Arms & Hearts (talk) 16:24, 2 August 2018 (UTC)

I would be enormously appreciative if you would share with me the markup for the user sandbox article you deleted today from the following page: User:Digimarketer4455/sandbox. American Tail article
That was a pretty hasty decision to delete the article. If you'd taken a look at it, you'd see that the references and information are not copyrighted by Mobygames, they are magazine and newspaper articles from their respective sources. The only thing that was Mobygames' was the image. Please reconsider and return the article. — Deltasim (talk) 19:54, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
Edit: I have checked out the mobygames article and I found out that user Kristie Ann Webb had apparently copied the summary straight from it. Can you restore the article so I change the text to something original but still accurate. Thank you. Deltasim (talk) 20:03, 2 August 2018 (UTC)

Suicideboys article
Hey, I was wondering if we could discuss the state of the suicideboys article and why it's on three other non English Wikipedia's and not the English one. Let's get in touch. Cganuelas (talk) 11:16, 3 August 2018 (UTC)
- So what do you want to "discuss"? The title to which you failed to link it is just one of innumerable variants deleted under Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/$uicideboy$. However my crude but usually accurate test says that possibly you do not have a serious CoI so if you think they have become sufficiently notable within the last two years, feel free to create a new version, preferably in draft space.
