Knowledge hub

The Knowledge hub is a central access point for information, evidence, and policy insights on the impact of digital transformation on the lives of children and young people in the EU, Iceland, and Norway. It is designed to inform stakeholder communities by bringing together key insights from the Better Internet for Kids (BIK) initiative and the EU Member States, Iceland, and Norway (EU27+2). The Knowledge hub consists of different features.

Its heart and soul is the Policy monitor, the key feature that provides a comprehensive review of the state of implementation of the European strategy for a Better Internet for Kids+ (BIK+ strategy) across the EU Member States, Iceland and Norway. It presents annually updated data in the form of the annual BIK Policy monitor report, the Policy map, the Policy index and the individual country profiles. Our BIK Policy monitor national contacts, the policy experts in each EU Member State, Iceland, and Norway, are the actors who make this annual data update cycle possible. The data collection of the current cycle was completed by February 2024. Find all the previous BIK Policy Map reports in the archive.

The Knowledge hub is complemented by two directories. The Rules and guidelines directory provides an overview of relevant policies, strategies, and governmental initiatives for implementing the BIK+ strategy across the EU, Iceland, and Norway. The Research and reports directory collates timely and relevant research and evidence informing the implementation of the BIK+ strategy.

In this area, you also find evidence-based Knowledge hub insights that combine information, evidence, and policy insights across the knowledge hub in digestible and topical articles.
