Hi everyone! 👋 My name is Matthew Tripsas and I’m the Director, Community Fundraising at World Central Kitchen (WCK). We're thrilled to be part of Apollo’s Cold Callers for Charity campaign and to share the impactful work we’re doing around the world. 🌍 A bit about me: 🌟 Upstate New York native, now living in Washington, DC 🏛️ 🌟 Proud pet parent to a cat and a dog 🐈 🐕 🌟 Over a decade of experience in strategic fundraising, partnerships, and program management World Central Kitchen is a nonprofit organization that is first to the frontlines, providing hot, nourishing meals in response to humanitarian, community, and climate crises. Since our founding in 2010, we have provided hundreds of millions of meals by applying our model of quick action, leveraging local resources, and adapting in real time. In 2024 alone, our Relief Team has responded to 24 crises across four continents while providing 110 million meals and comfort to communities experiencing their darkest moments. Our team has been: 🍴 Cooking paella in Valencia, Spain, after devastating floods 🍴 Supporting the Southeast US, including Asheville, NC, with thousands of meals daily as residents recover from Hurricane Helene 🍴 Feeding communities in Ukraine and the Middle East through devastating conflicts This work wouldn’t be possible without supporters like you. Right now, every year-end gift made through Dec. 31 will be matched, up to $300,000. This means your support can go twice as far to help provide nourishing meals and hope to communities facing unimaginable challenges. Double your impact today: https://lnkd.in/g8BR4xPs Thank you, Apollo, for giving me the opportunity to share more about our work. Together, we can feed hope to the people who need it most.
Cold calling is hard. Learn from Zoe’s mistakes. Hi it’s me, zoë hartsfield. Here’s how to make sure your call blocks are productive as hell: 1. Close out everything. If you have Slack, your phone, and your email blowing up, it will distract you. Just watch me call a prospect by the wrong name…I was scrolling LinkedIn while dialing. 🤦♀️ Shut everything down and just dial. 2. Have your talk track ready. Whether you use a script or not, you should know what you’re going to say before you hit dial. Plan out these 4 talk tracks and have the core messaging memorized so you’re dialing on easy-mode: ↳ Call opener ↳ Value prop (think elevator pitch) ↳ Common objections (and their overcome statements) ↳ How you transition to a close (ask for the meeting) 3. Organize your call list before you start dialing. It will only take 15 to 20 minutes, but bucketing like-prospects together will save you time (and headaches) when moving through your list. Here are a few ways to bucket the lists: ↳ By persona ↳ By problem you think they have (and the solution you will pitch for that specific problem) ↳ By company size (if you handle those customers differently) ↳ By industry (if you have diff value props or know of specific problems certain industries have that you solve for) Whichever way you break it up, bucketing them will remove the need to context switch between each call. Which saves time. Which means more dials. Which means more MONEY. And we all know we didn’t get into sales for the prestige. 😅
Hey! It’s Jeffrey Hsu, group product manager at Apollo, and I’m thrilled to share what my team and I have been working on lately — Waterfall Enrichment is almost here! 🚀 When we set out to build this, our goal was simple: to help you uncover even more of the data you need to fuel your outreach and close more deals. Because let’s face it: more data means more opportunities. That’s exactly what Waterfall Enrichment delivers. It expands the reach of your data by pulling email addresses and phone numbers from multiple sources—all seamlessly within Apollo. Here’s what makes Waterfall Enrichment such a game-changer: ✅ Maximized Data Coverage Our tool automatically searches one source after another to find the right contact details—so you can connect with the right people, faster. ✅ Built-In Email Validation We’ve added trusted validation tools to ensure your emails land in real inboxes, protecting your sender reputation. ✅ Seamless Action From enrichment to action, it’s all within Apollo. Put your data to work immediately in Apollo Workflows, CRM integrations, and more. Building this product has been an incredible journey, and I’m so proud of what the team has accomplished. I truly believe Waterfall Enrichment will unlock new potential for your outreach efforts. If you’re ready to expand your data game, join the waitlist today and be one of the first to try it out (🔗 in comments). I’d love to hear what you think!
Should I bother leaving voicemails??? YES! Take the extra 30 seconds, especially the first time you call someone. How else will they know you’re not a scammy robo-call? 🤖 On the 2nd Day of Cold Call Tips: Try leaving a “reverse voicemail”. That’s where you point to the next step (like a DM or email) instead of leaving a long, rambly message. This removes the pressure to call back, warms up other channels, and increases the chances of a reply. “After using this strategy, my email reply rate has completely skyrocketed,” says Anthony Balestras. Here’s a quick script you can use: “Hey {{name}}, it’s {{your name}}. Had a quick question for you, but no need to call me back. I’ll shoot you an email right now. See you in your inbox!”
Last week, we had our first community meetup in the heart of the Bay Area. Big thanks to our local host, Willy Hernandez at Ampersand, who graciously offered up their beautiful office space for the event. In case you missed it, here are some ✨highlights✨ from the event: ↳ We had three amazing winners of our holiday ugly sweater contest who took home our exclusive Apollo bomber jacket (pictured below). Fancy, right?? ↳ We didn’t just see connections and friendships being made; we even saw a few potential business deals. #AlwaysBeClosing ↳ Outbound Sales author and local celebrity Joshua Garrison stopped by to say hi to his fans and drop some outbound knowledge. Next stop: sunny Los Angeles this week! If you haven’t joined our Apollo Slack Community yet, we’ll share the 🔗 in the comments below. Where should we host our next meetup? Drop your votes in the comments, and we may come to a city near you!
Did you know that a self deprecating cold call opener is 2x more likely to keep a prospect on the line? At least that’s what I found in my rep days. Hey all! zoë hartsfield here. And in honor of our #ColdCallersForCharity campaign, we're going to be sharing 5 Days of Cold Call Tips. Excited to bring you Day 1, which is all about cold call openers. When I switched from a “Hi it’s Zoe at ACME Corp, and I am calling to see if you need more anvils.” *cliiiiiick* …to something way more conversational, casual and up-front, I literally had 2x the amount of conversations. Here are 4 of my favorite cold call openers: 1. “Hey Josh, I know I’m calling you out of the blue but I’m wondering if {{solution to major problem they have}} would be worth 60 seconds of your time?" 2. “Hi Jordan, heads up I am a salesperson cold calling you. Got 28 seconds to hear why I’m calling you specifically? If it’s not relevant, I promise to hang up on myself.” 3. “Hey Robyn, I know you weren’t expecting a call from me, but I’ve been planning to call you all morning and I’ve got research and data that tells me I can help you with {{major problem they likely have}}. Wanna roll the dice for 2 minutes and see if a conversation even makes sense?" 4th in the video ;) Have you tried these? Which one is your fav? #ColdCallTips
👉 Relevance is the new personalization. Dropping a prospect’s favorite sports team into your email isn’t enough anymore. Buyers expect outreach that shows you understand their needs—and hits their inbox at the perfect moment. Hi! I'm Jay Filiatrault, founder of GTM Ops agency, a RevOps agency that helps startups scale their go-to-market strategies. This shift to real-time personalization isn’t just a buzzword; it’s the strategy that’s helped my team book 4x more meetings without adding headcount. Using tools like Apollo, we’ve automated outreach to send the right message to the right person at the right time. I’ve seen firsthand how automation and data-driven outreach can transform sales efficiency. So, how did we 4x our meetings? 1️⃣ Use intent data to find buyers ready to act. We combine Apollo’s job change alerts, website visitor tracking, and high-intent signals to zero in on our ideal prospects. 2️⃣ Automate workflows for speed and precision. By building “if-then” logic, Apollo triggers actions like enrolling contacts into sequences or assigning reps—all without manual work. 3️⃣ Engage on multiple channels. Whether it’s email, LinkedIn, or phone, we orchestrate personalized messaging across platforms to meet buyers where they are. The result? 75% of our clients' outbound meetings now come from intent-based outreach, and their SDR teams are 300% more efficient. 🚀 Real-time personalization scales your outreach without scaling your team. What’s stopping your team from adopting a more data-driven approach to outreach? Let’s talk about it in the comments!
The volunteers are rolling in, and we’re so excited about this directory of #ColdCallersForCharity. Every sign up is making a difference for nonprofits that need help fundraising. So, take a page out of Erica Stacy Tarwater's book and tag your friends that you think would be great at cold calling for good.👇
This holiday season, let’s shake things up and make a difference! I’ve just hopped on board Apollo.io’s #ColdCallersForCharity directory, and I’m pumped! After five years in business development, mastering the art of connection and conversation, I’m now turning those skills towards something more meaningful than just money in my pockets 🤣 One charity that's incredibly close to my heart is Trampled Rose Rescue, right here in New Orleans, Louisiana (ok, Ponchatoula - but who knows where Ponchatoula is?) You can check them out on their website (see comments) This wonderful organization is dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs in need, providing them with love, care, and a second chance at life. Who knew that cold calling could help to get them tails a'waggin'? It's amazing to think that by simply applying our professional skills, we can make a tangible impact on the lives of these animals. I’m calling out some awesome folks— Justin Lang, Creedence Gerlach, and Dean LaBay. I challenge you to jump in and support causes you love as well... Whether it’s about animals, education, or the environment, let’s put our skills to use for the greater good! Let’s turn 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 this season. 🎁 It’s more than just calls; it’s about making a change with our voices and energy. Imagine the impact if we all team up! #NewOrleans #ColdCalls #ColdCalling
