EQUITABLE ≠ FAIR Jamie Edwards, Head of GTM Ops & Tools at Gusto, illustrates this difference with the example of 2 types of sellers: 🤝 Relationship sellers: Super methodical reps who invest significant time to bringing in larger deals. ☎️ Quick sellers: Reps who strive on getting the quickest sale possible, and keep moving forward. Here's how the approach differs when you're assigning accounts: ⚖️ EQUITABLE: You assign an equal number of accounts to each seller. ✅ FAIR: You assign accounts based on the type of seller, i.e., more accounts for the quick seller as compared to the relationship seller. Every SDR knows time is money. Here are three time wasters to watch out for—and how to overcome them: Poor Targeting: Avoid wasting time on low-quality leads by refining your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP). Use data to focus on high-potential prospects that fit your criteria. Brandon Jeppson is def the king here! Generic Outreach: Boost response rates by personalizing your outreach. Use templates as a starting point, but always add a personal touch that resonates with your prospect. Joseph Rains shared crucial insight with me here! Over-Researching: Set a time limit for research and focus on key insights that drive conversations. Prioritize action over perfection to keep your pipeline moving. Not all SDR agencies and approaches are created equal. If you’re looking to use an SDR Agency, ask these questions: → Where do the reps sit? → What kind of experience do the reps have? → Are they US-based? → What strategies are being brought to the partnership? Does the client need to come up with a plan? Or is the agency creating and implementing the approach based on their previous experience and market trends? → What channels are being used? Is it a multi-channel approach? What does volume look like? → How are they nurturing prospects who are close, but not quite ready to take a meeting? These questions will help you evaluate and determine the best SDR agency to work with. There are 1,000’s of “lead generation” agencies & platforms out there - use practical logic, trust your gut and be leery when you start hearing guaranteed results or promises. Do the research on what the SDR agency can do for you. There’s always time to make the right decision.

SDRs can sell to 10 different titles or verticals if the offer/benefit is the same. If it’s not, then don’t bother.  Keep them focused on 1-2 titles or verticals. When prospecting, SDRs need to hone in on their service's value, offer, and benefit. If it’s too generalized, it’ll never resonate with the desired audience. It’ll fall flat. They’ll never hit quota. Focus breeds expertise. Expertise is what helps lay the foundation of interest and trust. If your SDR focuses on too many offerings, they will never be the expert. They’ll never generate interest and trust. Let your SDR have a narrow focus. Let your SDR become the expert at piquing interest on 1-2 offerings. That’s what we do at Alleyoop.
