About the organisation
Safer Internet Centre Croatia exists to promote a safer and more responsible use of the internet and mobile technologies among children and young people. The primary goal is to enhance internet safety and digital literacy for children and youth, with a strong focus on protecting their rights in the digital age and improving online safety across Croatia. We provide help and education about Internet use to children, young people, parents, teachers, and others interested in this important topic.
Our services include a free and anonymous Helpline, a Hotline form for reporting inappropriate content, and live counselling at our offices. We also conduct activities across Croatia, raising awareness and educating the public on internet safety.
In collaboration with our partners, we implement programs such as the Gen Z Academy, School for Responsible Influencing, Web Detectives, and are developing innovative tools to more effectively address the issue of children's safety online.

Hotline
Hotline Croatia is a part of the www.csi.hr page on which you can make an anonymous report about any illicit or illegal content online. The report will then be forwarded to the Hotline Coordinator who is trained and experienced with dealing with harmful or illegal content.
The report will be reviewed and, if not anonymous, the person who reported the content will be notified of the actions which have been taken on the case. If needed, the report is then transferred to the proper agencies in Croatia dealing with such reports. The hotline has great cooperation with both the police and the government sector.
Youth participation
Our Youth Panel is powered by a passionate group of dedicated volunteers who play an essential role in the
work of the Safer Internet Centre Croatia. At Youth Panel we welcome high school students, university
students from social sciences and humanities, and other young people eager to make a difference. These
volunteers bring fresh energy and innovative ideas to our initiatives, helping us promote online safety and
support youth across the country. They participate in monthly meetings, propose activities, and shape some
of them independently. We are working on their participation.
In addition to our volunteers, we also work with a group of young people who participate in our half-day
treatment programs for children. Our Centre runs eight of these half-day treatment places, supporting
children from vulnerable backgrounds who are referred to us by the social welfare system for additional
care.
The young volunteers are between the ages of 15 and 25, while the participants in the half-day programs are
of elementary and high school age. Together, our volunteers and these young participants collaborate to
create a positive impact on the community.
How can you get involved?
There are 3 places where you can volunteer in our offices in Croatia - Osijek, Zagreb and Split, and we also have the option of online volunteering. Anyone interested in joining the Youth Panel can contact the volunteer coordinator, Marijana Hinek, via email at marijana.hinek@cnzd.org. After applying, candidates will need to fill out an application form, provide the necessary documentation for volunteering, participate in a volunteer interview, and attend training (when it is organized). Then, based on availability, they will be involved in the activities organized by SIC Croatia.
