I'm excited to be promoted to L5 Manager II, Operations at Amazon! I joined Amazon through the University Operations Program straight out of University. I left my home country and life in the UK behind and relocated to San Antonio, USA to start this new chapter and joined Amazon Transportation Services in 2022. Over the past 2+ years - I've had the privilege of being a people leader to hundreds of people, worked with various cross functional teams, supported my team to achieve promotions, helped drive operational process improvement and had insight to the behind the scenes of various different Amazon business lines. The thought of leading hundreds of people as a first time manager straight out of uni seemed daunting at first. But through the challenges and opportunities, I grew into a confident leader. I learned how to manage large teams, solve complex supply chain problems and drive innovation in high-pressure and dynamic environments. Operations helped me grow in ways I never anticipated and for that, I’ll always be thankful. A special shoutout to Catherine Wilson, my first manager at Amazon, for her mentorship and support. Cassie, you believed in me from day one and gave me the foundations I needed to succeed as a first-time manager. Another big thank you to my colleague, friend and mentor Kyle Mecham, who trained me during my early days. Kyle, your patience and encouragement made a world of difference. You answered my endless questions and pushed me to step out of my comfort zone. To my colleagues in Operations: thank you for the teamwork and support. Together, we tackled challenges, celebrated wins and consistently raised the bar to deliver exceptional service to our customers.
