Matter makes your smart homes easier to manage by simplifying how you set up and use connected devices. It ensures reliable connections by letting different brands of devices work together seamlessly.
Once you’ve added a Matter-enabled device to the Google Home app, it joins the same network as the Google device (which works as a Google Matter Hub) so you can control it from home or away.
Some Google Nest devices are updated to function as Matter Hubs. This means you can connect all your Matter devices to the Google Home app, letting you control them from anywhere using the app, your Android phone's smart home controls, or even with your voice using Google Assistant. Matter Hubs include the original Google Home speaker, Google Mini, Nest Mini, Nest Hub (1st and 2nd gen), Nest Hub Max, Nest Audio and Nest Wifi.
To check if a device is Matter-compatible, look for the Matter logo
